Company Analysis Of Volkswagenwerk, Or The People's Car Company
The company was established in 1937 by the Deutsche Arbeitsfront, the Nazi Trades union organization (Bowler, 2015). The company was named Volkswagenwerk, or “The People’s Car Company.” because Adolf Hitler has a vision to produce cars for people of the Reich. Hitler proposed that the car should carry 5 people, able to run at 62mph (100km/h), and cost only 1000 Reich Marks (around $160) which supposedly affordable for every Reich family (Knorr, 1998). His vision made reality by an Australian automotive engineer named Ferdinand Porsche and began its production in 1938. However, the WWII broke and the company had to halt its production. Lamborghini – Italian sport car manufacturer brand founded in 1963 and was purchased by Audi in 1998. It deals with manufacturing high-performance sport cars and motorsports. The company was acclaimed to be the one who set the standard for its era. Porsche AG – Porsche was founded by Ferdinand Porsche in Stuttgart, Germany in 1931 as a motor vehicles developer who helped creating Volkswagen Beetle. Porsche has been a great partner with Volkswagen AG since then. The company itself focuses on making high-performance sport cars, SUVs and sedans. The company value is characterized by opposition; exclusive yet accepting, old-style yet innovative, high-performance yet suitable and artistic yet well-functioned.
