Community Service Should Be Encouraged In A University
Community service is a voluntary work which is intended to help people. This kind of service is important because the needy people will be help by the volunteers so their life will be improved and become easier. Other than that, the relationship between the volunteers and the helped people become stronger and also firms the bond among the volunteers themselves. So, should community service be encouraged in a university? I strongly agree that community service should be encouraged in a university because joining it gives benefits to the students. As a student there is much free time during every single semester. Why do the students have to spend the precious time by doing something which lead to waste that precious thing such as going to malls, playing computer games and other unnecessary activities to be done. By participating in community service, students can spend their leisure time by helping people in need such as visiting old folks or orphans home, picking up trash and donating money and goods. They can complete these unpaid jobs by joining organizations organized in the university. By doing these kind of activities, their leisure time will be spend greatly. Furthermore, the other benefit of this service is people which are in need will be help by the community service volunteers. Indeed, helping people such as the victims of natural disasters like tsunami, flood, fire , and traffic accident. Thus, it will help the victims in some aspects such as economical, shelter, and clothes. After the actions have done, it will ease the burden of the trouble faced by the victims and help them survive. At the same time, the service also can make the world a better place. Of course, community service can be helping out the community with things like cleaning up the leaves and trash, cutting and cleaning up yards. So, by doing these the area will be clean and tidy which make it
