Community Environmental Issue
Issues are facing every nation in the world do to a number of reasons, and one big factor is over population and destroying natural recourses. I choose an issue that is affecting California and I personally think this problem is affecting the world. Our climate changes do to emissions of greenhouse gases but also carbon dioxide from combustion of fossil fuels. This is an issue because over the past century our ocean temps and river temps have been on the rise, higher ocean temps can cause natural disasters like hurricanes, and higher river temps can have a huge impact to our wild life, although most people don’t see the big picture this is a huge problem, The emissions and carbon dioxide affect our ozone witch scientists believe is the reason why our ocean levels are getting higher and hotter, but also the temps outside, every year it gets hotter and hotter. A simple example people have killed themselves by carbon dioxide, and we continue to use it to pollute our air.
This issue I believe is a worldwide problem because most countries are over populated and with over population come pollution, our ozone should be protected do to the fact it’s the only thing protecting us from the suns UV rays, and from cooking the planet. Leading problems causing this issue are emissions of greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide from the combustion of fossil fuels, what some people don’t understand is this is a chain reaction, this may be a small problem but what it is doing now is causing other small problems and in time those small problems will continue with other types of natural resources, the air pollution is being affect by emissions but also by the fact we cut them down to build a housing track or a mall you name it.
Our nation has tried to put laws in to place to protect our resources but companies making the vehicles are making an attempt to make clean air emissions cars and buses, along with our everyday use of heavy equipment, along with natural resources being protected by the government to try to start a plan to protection of valuable resources we cannot go on without. Solutions like making clean air vehicles, so we have nothing but clean air emissions, we can stop cutting down forests and leaving them alone because it’s just not affect one natural resource but many. But being clean all around and not polluting the world with bad trash and oil can also help with this cause, I believe everything we pollute has a role to play in all our natural recourses and can affect everything.

Another cause for warmer ocean temperatures can be from marine diseases. If the water gets warm it gives outside species and bacteria a window to flourish in areas where they were excluded. It is predicted that the concentration of CO2 will triple to what the pre-industrial average of 280 ppm. Currently, according to the CO2 detector on Mauna Loa Observatory is registering 398.78 ppm. Kaster (1998) states that,” Of the 7.1 gigatons of carbon released each year about 3.3 Gt C accumulates in the atmosphere.” If the world uses all of its reserves of coal, oil and natural gas then it is reasonable to think that the CO2 concentrates will be about 1100 to 1200 ppm roughly 400 to 800 years from now (Kaster, 1998). An increase of air pollutants is a result of continued use of fossil fuels. Air pollutants such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides and hydrocarbons are produced as fossil fuels are used (Union of Concerned Scientist, n. d.). Carbon monoxide causes headaches and aggravates people with heart disease. Nitrogen dioxide and nitric oxides creates smog, a yellowish-brown “cloud” layer that settles on the ground. This is important to consider because “in the 20th century, the world’s average surface temperature rose by approximately 1 degree Fahrenheit, the fastest rate in any period over the last 1,000 years” (Source A).
