Communication In Health And Social Care Essay
Text messaging is another form of communication that help communication to be effective in health and social care settings. However, in health and social care setting, service providers tend to send lots of reminding text messages via email to remind service users about their appointment with the doctor or the nurses. In the event of text messaging, health and social care professionals can use it in the context of both 1-1 and group. So, this could be between colleagues and between professional and those using the services. Example where text messaging can be used to make communication effective is in schools or colleges. However, in my college, in order for us to have resources from our lecturers they may either text us or email us about resources they have send for us. This is effective because every single person in the group will receive the same email or text message to ensure that communication is effective between us the students and our tutors. Another example where text messaging can be use in health and social care is also in the event of reminding us in college about our 1-1 progression with our tutors by sending text message for a particular student with a particular time.     How and why we are texting influence text: this is ‘context’. During a group activity we discussed our reasons and views as to why we use text messaging. We discovered that people text for different reasons. The results show, It is cheaper to text, The conversation in text format is shorter in contrast with a lengthy phone call.
