Colony Collapse Disorder is a phenomenon, which happens when the majority of the worker bees abandon a queen and vanish. They also leave behind a lot of nourishment and nurse bees to look after the staying immature bees and the queen. The hives cannot support themselves without worker bees, so they have chance to die. Colony Collapse Disorder have declined significantly over the last 5 years. It was already known in the apiculture field as different names. Since the great number of disappearance of western honey bee, this syndrome was renamed colony collapse disorder. Lots of regions in the world are really touched by this phenomenon, such as North America, or West European countries (Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and etc).
