Colleges should be free for everyone because higher education leads to a more educated and productive workforce, many students don’t have access to higher education because of how much it cost, and if the students have to pay for university education, this might dissuade them from going.
First of all, higher education leads to a more educated and productive workforce. Next, many studies have underscored that a college degree is a way to a more better and stable life even for students that struggled in high school. A lot of high school students struggle in high school and when they get to colleges, they learn what’s more important in life. Put yourself in the shoes of a twenty three year old. They have just graduated with their bachelor's degree. They do not have to worry about school any longer, no longer have to attend classes, or worry about not remembering the answer to a question on an exam. However, their debt in student loans will follow them until they are in their mid fourties. They will not want to eat stably, purchase good clothes. They may miss electricity bills, or struggle to keep a cheap apartment as it is. They will struggle to survive, not to live, all because they need to get all of the debts that they are swimming in, paid as quickly as possible, just so that they can start living their life. While people may believe that this will cost society more money, when it comes to college level education, I believe that all tuition and fees should be covered by the government, all the way to a phd.…

Imagine living in a household where getting a higher education wasn’t an option, this is the case for hundreds of people in the United states every year. Over the course of years, thousands of people go to college straight after high school with the privilege of being able to afford it, while others who aren’t economically stable can’t. Lowering the cost of college will increase the number of students who enroll annually because it will open more opportunities to those who are less fortunate than…

¨By making college unaffordable and student loans unbearable, we risk deterring our best and brightest from pursuing higher education and securing a good-paying job.¨ - Mark Pocan. I agree with this quote, very much it just simply is correct. Frankly, until this happens people are stuck working a few years before pursuing a higher education and going to college. Unless someone plays a sport or is academically superior the chances of going to college for free is slim to none. I personally believe for the majority of people it would be in their best interest to put off school because it will give them the time they need to save enough money, if you are burnt out from high school, work on yourself.…

When someone says free, nobody assumes money. People consider America, or the right to speak freely without worry, not free college. To brand something that costs so much now as free would be quite a large task. “That’s why I am sending this Congress a bold new plan to lower the cost of community college – to zero”, former President Barrack Obama stated in his speech on free tuition. He states that college can cost nothing to anyone, but free will never be free. Credit is not given, only earned. Increasing the already insatiable amount of taxes that American citizens pay for is just the beginning. Lowering the quality of education received when there are thousands of new students going to institutions just for the reason that it is free. Higher education will be suffering in numerous ways, including: increased quantity of students, reduced salary once a degree is attained, not to mention a higher percentage of scholars dropping out. The first two years of college should not be “free.”…

College tuition is a very deliberate topic that will continue to win over students if it is not changed. Not only will students be unable to afford college, but if they go, they will leave with thousands of dollars in debt. The ideal solution to this problem is to decrease college tuition. There are many reasons why this plan would work since other countries have free tuition and there is money that can go towards free tuition. Free college tuition is very achievable so it should begin now and stop increasing. Let’s keep the billions of dollars in debt that we will lose next year if we don’t lower tuition.…

    Free College

I personally don't believe that college should be free. Making it free would only serve to limit the value of the education while filling colleges with students that have no business/need there. College would become nothing more than a 4 year extension of high school if it were free. As things are now, society needs about 25% of the population to have a college degree for the jobs that require one and about 30% of the population has a degree. As a result, you hear from a lot of people that believe that they wasted time getting the degree because it's not serving them as an employment enhancer.…

Being a high school senior it would be amazing for college to be free, but if we really think about it. There is a lot more going into it than just free community college. The money has to come from somewhere if President wants to make it free for students to go to community. A lot of people do not think about the consciences or the aftermath of this plan. They are just paying attention to solving one problem, but do not stop and think about the rest of the problems that are going to raise when they make going to community college for free. As a student, I strongly disagree with making community college free because it is going to cause more problems.…
