College vs. High School Essay
College Vs. High School Essay
One major challenge that I believe I will encounter in college is managing my own time wisely. In high school, my time was always guided by others. My teachers constantly reminded me when assignments were due and instructed me exactly how to do them. However, in college, I will need to constantly refer to my syllabus to check when assignments are due. I am now going to be on my own. It will be my responsibility to do my assignments on time. To overcome this challenge, I will have my syllabus with me at all times to check what assignments need to be done. This will help me stay on top of everything.
Another challenge that I believe I will face in college is studying. In high school, I didn’t have to spend a long time studying. I had all the material I needed to study in one textbook. On the other hand, in college, there are multiple resources that I am responsible for finding and studying. To overcome this challenge, I will spend at least two hours outside of class to study for a class. I will print out the resources suggested on my syllabus to have handy to refer to any time.
One more challenge I fear to face in college is that teachers will push me to think critically for myself. In high school, I was always guided through the thinking process. Now I am on my own to think outside the box and have my own ideas, which can be challenging sometimes. To overcome this, I will use resources suggested on the syllabus to help me come up with some ideas. Also, if I do not understand something completely, I will reach out to my peers in class or I will contact the teacher for help. I hope that with time, I become better and better at thinking critically for myself.

“In the United States today, there is no more certain investment than a college education”(Carnevale and Melton). Education has always been a major component of American society. One can only go so far without an education, and the more education and knowledge someone has, the better their chances of being successful. Some people believe a high school education is enough, and it is, enough to land a job at a fast food restaurant. I speculate they feel this way because they feel school is not for them, or maybe they just do not want to go far in life. To get far in life people must go above and beyond, and learn things that others do not know to make them stand out in job interviews. College helps develop skills that are necessary for life, and gives them an education that will enhance their future; and despite its few drawbacks, college is worth it.…

Hello Dr. Aaron Oberman and fellow classmates. I’m excited to be taken this course because I’m almost at the finish line of completing my degree. I have been working in social services for almost 15 years helping adults meeting their needs while aiming at becoming self-sufficient. I enjoy my job, but I’m burned out, meaning my job no longer brings me the same satisfactions as it did 15 years ago. I reevaluated my life giving consideration to my age, family and happiness and decided it was time for a career change. As an undergrad student, I recall an instructor telling us in life most people will have a job and a career. Social Services is currently my job and school counseling will be my career. With age I have learned helping others…

The move Amistad and the story “Interesting Narrative of the life of Olaudah Equiano” have many similarities.
