In Life there are roads and there are choices. The right or left turn you make along the winding path throughout your life is and should be the one that makes you happy. Furthering your education may be your best and only way to make that right decision. At the present moment I am now currently attending Valencia Community College working towards my Associate Degree in Computer Science. My current major is Computer Science, although Computer Engineering with a focus in Software is what I will most likely pursue as my Bachelor of Arts (BA). Computer Science/Engineering is one of the most popular and fastest growing careers today. Today, computers are used in almost every aspect of our lives: in car engines, microwave ovens, video games, watches, telephones, desktops at home and work, mainframe computers in government and industry, and supercomputers expanding the frontiers of science and technology. Furthering your college education in an institute of higher learning may set you aside from your colleagues at Valencia. The college that I plan to attend after I obtain my AA degree at Valencia is the University Of Central Florida (UCF). Furthering my education is important and essential to my personal as well as life-long career goals. If you think the price of education is expensive, try the price of ignorance. You pay for ignorance everyday for the rest of your life.…

Together, the aforementioned steps set me up for an easy acceptance when the time arrived.…

To me it means a lot of things such as graduating with at least a B average without dropping out or failing any of my classes but most importantly it means that I walked away with something important. All children are required to graduate high school, but pursuing higher education is only recommended. While high school curriculum is designed to prepare students for higher education, students learn essential career readiness skills while enrolling in higher education classes. Since students are not obliged to pursue higher education, many students who decide not to continue their education lack the skills necessary for future careers. While some schools hope to implement career readiness for either all their students or for only the students who do not wish to pursue college, other schools do not want to offer career readiness programs as they believe that it offers incentives for students not to attend college. Schools should require all students to take career readiness classes as…

Throughout my education journey there’s been one phrase that’s stuck with me, ”knowledge is key”, and one way to accomplish knowledge is by getting an education. The dilemma is that many don’t have access to achieve this due to financial needs but soon that may change. On January 08, 2016 President Obama presented a proposal that may eventually help many Americans reach their educational goals without all the debt that comes with it.This proposal is called the “America’s College Promise”, which allows two years of community college to be free for those students who are willing to put in the work. This promise will allow students to earn their first half of a bachelor's degree, which will also allow them to earn the skills needed in the workforce. According to Obama,” this plan is a chance to graduate ready for the new economy, without a load of debt”, and I agree. I believe that having the chance to go to a community college without having to pay for tuition for two years is a great idea, especially for those willing to put work for it and prove that this opportunity will not be in vain.. This is a chance for people who once would've never had a chance to achieve their “key” our economy will benefit greatly.…

What does it mean to be successful? Many people look at the word success from different views. The dictionary defines success in two ways: the accomplishment of one’s goals and then the attainment of wealth or position. I believe you can be successful in two ways as well: you can be successful in your career and you can be successful by doing what makes you happy and living a fulfilling life to your standards. You don’t have to have a huge mansion on top of a private hill looking over the ocean to be defined as successful. When asked what it takes to be successful in college, that’s a different story. To be successful in college is to reach your academic goals in a productive way. I am in college to obtain a degree and build an honorable future for myself. My goals for college are to get straight A’s and obtain my MD. My goals for life are to become a pharmacist and be able to provide for my future family. In order to decide what tips will most help me succeed in college I read several articles on college success, provided by my professor. I have come to find the best ways to be successful in college are to manage time wisely, communicate and form an association with my professors, and get to it and do it.…

We focus on helping our students not only to earn up to 60 college credits while in high school, but to also develop those skill sets that are going to make them successful college students. We ensure that our students understand that a college degree is accessible, affordable, and attainable. We do this by starting the college awareness process in our 6-8 grades and build on that momentum in grades 9-12. One has to approach school as an added duty in one’s life. I must add an extra responsibility to my daily chores and activities. I am venturing into an activity I have not done any schooling for over 30 plus years now. School is something I must learn all over again. This changes our everyday routines to a point that we all must learn to work well with this new education. I am glad that in the past I had learned great tools to work with while working on these new responsibilities. Making it great while I was getting my A.S. degree in Florida Tech College out of Orlando, FL. Back then everything was paper and pencil or pen. Now I see an all new era of schooling and especially online. I force myself to get things done early, just like I do when I need to be somewhere for an appointment. I arrive much earlier than requested so I have time to sit and plan what will be going on at this appointment. I turn that into the same here with my online class. I don't like to be late for anything even dinner at home. Work on my college activities and required assignments take on the same aspect that I apply to my personal life. Both must be taken on with kid gloves. But as long as I keep in mind the goals created for school and stick to them I should have no trouble working out any obstacles that come my…
