College Essay Example
Everyone has a certain spot where they can concentrate and let their emotions come out. An environment often plays a key role in easing the amount of stress needed to overcome certain phases of life. This place can be the only spot where a person can be peaceful thus allowing them to think more rational and getting through what is bothering them. I have a spot like this.
This place has a very scenic view of the Hudson River with New Jersey in the background. I’ve been going to this spot for about 4 years. When I’m there it is usually because I need to meditate and think over many things, such as current problems and school. It is a place where I am not bothered and I can let out my emotions without other people intervening. I am able to think more rational and sometimes it even helps to study there. When I need to release stress that is where I go. Something as simple as skipping a rock or just staring at the view helps me to overcome certain things. It also provides a lot of space to be able to walk along a short coastline. In this spot I experience my own form of nirvana.
This place is meaningful to me. For the past 4 years it has greatly helped me in overcoming problems. From something like stressing school work to family problems, this spot provided an environment where I was able to think things through and make the right decisions for different problems. It is also a place that holds many memories that I have shared with some of my closest friends. In a way I think being able to have a place like this has helped me become the person I have today. I’ve learned to handle problems in better ways. It helped me learn how to think while I’m in a perplexing situation. This place has helped me gain a special understanding of how to get through things.

Writing a gripping and effective college essay is vital to most high school seniors that are applying to college. A college essay is a personal narrative that is read by college admission officers so that a college can get a better sense at who applicants are as a person. College essays are essential to setting applicants apart, so choosing an interesting a well-developed subject is key. In my experience, finding the narrative that I wanted to share was quite simple. I knew that the experience that taught me the most in my life was living with my ill grandfather and dealing with assimilation into my nuclear family. As well, during the time that I was writing my first draft, all my issues and the lessons that I was learning from them were still quite fresh. So, in a sense, it was easier to write since I knew exactly how I felt about it all…
