What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday is Christmas. Christmas is all about being with and blessing my family. I like Christmas because I can go shopping for my many brothers and sisters and my parents. I also like Christmas because I get to go to my beach house and hang out with my aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a lot of other people. I love to help my mom make Christmas dinner, and I like to help eat the dinner as well.
There are twelve kids in my family including me. The ages range from 41 to two years old. That makes for an interesting and fun time shopping for gifts. For my older siblings I like to get them a gift card to their favorite places, such as Forever 21, Kohl’s, Dunkin’ Doughnuts, and other places. My younger siblings are harder to shop for. I am right in the middle of the twelve kids, so I am number six. That means I have to shop for six younger siblings. The youngsters all want exactly what they ask for, and so usually I get the kids clothes, and a small toy that they pick from a catalog that is no more than $10. My parents are very easy to shop for, I get my dad a couple bags of dunkin doughnuts coffee, and I get my mom a gift card to bonefish and I write her a love letter.
Two days after Christmas my whole family aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, boyfriends, kids, and the dogs all pack up and head down to North Carolina. We stay at my beach house until the morning of New Year’s Eve. We leave around one in the morning to get back on time to settle down and celebrate New Year’s Day. My mom and dad bought a beach house in Corolla North Carolina three years ago. We all go down; we don’t have cable or internet there, so we bring games like Pictionary, Monopoly, and Dominoes. We play games, talk, laugh, cry, and have a good time.
