Values of a College Degree In today’s day and age, having a college degree is important. It is so important it determines whether you will be living in the streets or living in a nice fancy house. Going to college is a big step in pursing your career. Being in college gives you many doors for opportunity. Graduating from high school is only the first step. After graduating high school today you will not find a high paying job as opposed to a college degree. When applying for a high paying job, many if not all will ask for your education background. A good way to get through college is with friends. You can meet plenty of people while you are getting your degree. The best way to do that is getting involved. Your college experience is only as good as you make it. Join a club, talk to classmates, and be kind and respectful to everyone. The simplest way to put it is to be social. Don’t be afraid to talk to people. There’s no need to beat yourself up if someone doesn’t want to talk back you, it’s probably not in his or her nature to talk in general. Even though you may have a million other things going on, it's important to remind yourself why you're in college in the first place: to graduate. Your academic work should always come first when it comes to managing your time. Also a great way to manage time is plan ahead. Write down that you have homework due or put an alarm on your phone for your 9:30 class.
A big bonus in going to college is the end results, which is making more money as a graduate. Everybody wants money and everybody needs it. Students out of college who have earned their degree have a higher chance of getting a higher salary than a student with just a high school diploma or G.E.D.
