There many reasons people desire a college education. The two main reasons are to make more money and those who want it as a life accomplishment. I am different than most people. As far back in my life as I can remember I have had a passion for learning. I can still feel the excitement of coming from the store with the flash cards of basic math equations. It felt so rewarding to get faster going through them knowing I was getting smarter, a feeling that is important for young kids.

Flash forward, and I still get that jittery feeling when I turn an assignment in before my classmates. It is even more rewarding when I see I earned an “A”. This passion for knowledge has grown past the walls of my high school. This is due, in part, to my increased

I am determined to go to college even if there are some setbacks that make harder for me to do so. For example, when I was in 10th grade I found out that I had scoliosis, and the only way that I would be able to treat it was through surgery. At the time that I had found this out, I had already planned out my sophomore year; I was going to take 2 AP classes and 2 math courses above my grade level. At the time I truly believed that I was going to be able to go through the surgery, take all my classes, and very least get decent grades in all my classes, including my AP classes. However, that semester ended up being my worst.…

Life is full of obstacles which starts out on an easy level but only becomes harder the further on down. Because of the obstacle turning meticulous, people eventually crave to attend college to pursue an education; young adult, middle aged, or over middle aged adults. The reason people are inspired to attend college is that the job industries are wanting people with degrees over people with hands-on- skills. The job industries feel that people with college degrees are more likely to make the job industry flourish more than people who have not attended college but know…

I come from a family of six with only one parent who works as a painter. His income is just enough to pay for our food, bills, rent, and personal needs. Hence, I am aware that my parents won’t have enough to pay for my tuition or any expenses in college. Considering attending Houston Baptist University, a private college, I know it will be very expensive. For this reason I think about and stress over about how I will cover payments for college repeatedly. Out of all the reasons I wouldn’t be able to attend college, I don’t want money to be the reason why I won’t be able to pursue my degree.…

I believe in opportunity. The definition of opportunity is something that you want to do, have the chance to do, or the possibility·of achieving something. When I was younger, I lived in a heavily populated town: Laredo, Texas. At the time, I was an eighth grader trying to make my mom proud by getting good grades in my classes. Seeing my mom happy was the greatest feeling in the world. My father, on the other hand, started to disappear on us. I found out that my dad had a drug problem, and my mom was filing for a divorce. I did not want my mom getting a divorce, but I knew she would be happier. My parents splitting up killed me, but it was best for my mother and me. Thinking about the divorce now, it was probably the best thing that has ever happened to me, because it offered me one thing: opportunity.…

According to Robert S. Feldman’s article, "Why Go to College," in my ENF textbook, students have many reasons for attending college (27). The most important reason for me is to make my family proud and to be the first son to graduate a college. A college degree will help me earn a better living and provide financial security for myself. However, I will also receive many more benefits. The reason why I want to have a college degree so that I can have more overtures to look for a job in my category. According to Feldman's article, another reason is that I will become a…

“If I were you, I would go to UCLA. You may not realize it, but you will appreciate being close to home” my father told me as senior year of high school came to an end. 18 years living in the same house with my family made me want to get as far away from California as I could for college. UCLA, a 50-minute drive from my home in Irvine, did not seem as exciting as going off to the east coast by myself, which was always how I envisioned my college experience. As a naïve 18-year-old, I figured I no longer needed my parents’ help. I would go to Baltimore and be fine on my own, because after all, it was through my own hard work that I had been accepted to college.…

    College Is It Worth It

The main reason why people go to college is not because they want to but because they have to. Most 11th and 12th graders are pressured by their parents to go to college because it is "the right thing to do."" In the essay that Caroline Bird wrote "College is a Waste of Time and Money", she states that students go to college because " . . . Mother wanted them to go, or some other reason entirely irrelevant to the course of studies for which college is supposedly organized." The student may have different ideas about what he or she wants to do in life, but because they think that their parents know what is best for them, they probably end up doing something they do not want to do, resulting in being miserable and resentful.…

“A college shows a man how little other people know. Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself.” During the interview with the college students or former ones, they all say that I must focus on my education if I want to pursue my dreams as a scientist or as a FBI agent. I believe that college is the best path for me after high school. This is because college can help give me a higher level education, get me a better job, and help me find my own path. After graduating in a college or a university, I want to work as a biologist, astronomer, or as a FBI agent.…
