College Admissions Essay: What Motivates Me

“If you do not try you will not go far." That is all the "motivation" I get to help me take my education seriously. Coming from a family who is not strict enough and does not set limits has disappointments. For example, my older siblings were not graduating high school and relying on my parents for anything. My parents have not learned to let go and say “no.” Lousy guidance is what surrounds me and it motivates me to do better. Ever since I was young, teachers will always tell my parents "what a bright student she is." I never thought they meant it. Teachers say those things to make sure you always do your best, and it did help for a while. During my middle school years, I never cared about my grades. I thought it was "cool" just to sit back and relax. I was under a terrible influence, and nobody was there to pick me right up. I had friends who did not motivate me to do good in school. I did not comprehend that it would affect
I do not understand what happen but one day it hit me. I knew that if I did not try my best I would end up like my siblings, and I did not want that. I did not want to depend on my parents. I wanted to reach out for opportunities that were there for me. I knew that school had to be my number one priority for me to be successful. Today I am involved in clubs, college course classes, and I volunteer. When I feel tired, and I am ready to give up, I think about the life my brothers have, and it motivates me to try. I signed up to be in clubs and take the classes, and I just can not give up easily when the path gets rough. I am the first generation from my family to go to college, even if I do not know where to begin from I have college resources at school to help me out with anything. Due to my experiences I learned to never doubt myself no matter what. Failures and laziness are a trial of life I do not want to go through again. I want to go on a path that will lead me to
