College Admissions Essay: What Does Freedom Mean
Freedom is priceless. Freedom means to love, live, and worship as you choose. Always remembering that this choice consists not only in doing what we like or want, but in having the right to do what we should. Freedom to me means to learn from my mistakes. If we did not have freedom we would not be able to worship our religion, speak freely, and assembly with others. Freedom is the foundation upon which our founding fathers built this country. Freedom of religion, speech, and assembly is just three important reasons why my freedom is so important. Freedom of religion is to believe in whatever religion one chooses. Freedom of speech means to express your opinions and ideas. Lastly, freedom of assembly means to come together and support your ideas. These freedoms are used in all of our lives. If we did not have these freedoms ;we would all have to believe in the same religion, wouldn’t have any say in how our country is ran, and definitely have no rights in supporting our opinions. …show more content…
Many were killed and injured. Other children my age are fighting for their lives. Freedom allows me to lay my head down without any worries. I can do this because many veterans sacrificed their lives for my country. To be respectful, I always say “thank you for your service” to every veteran or solider I see. The National Anthem to me is the biggest reminder of my freedom. It is played at every school event in the United States, before some work meetings, and every morning on base in the military. “For the land of the free and the home of the brave” defines our country in just 12 words perfectly. The United States is a free country, and in my opinion we are the home of the brave. I thank my veterans every night for sacrificing their life to make mine better. Freedom to me means being thankful in every

“Give me liberty, or give me death!” Patrick Henry’s famous words still remain in history to influence our country, but many Americans generally neglect this phrase. We often take our freedom for granted without understanding how our Founding Fathers fought for our liberty from Britain. As Americans, we should respect our country and the freedom and rights given to us. The word freedom has a different meaning for different people. Freedom to me means being free from a single ruler who dictates and who goes by his own rules. Freedom has affected America immensely and has brought upon many individuals for the thought of having freedom for the first time. We sometimes take our freedom for granted and do not think of how people dream of having freedom. America has freedom because it was fought for and lives were taken for the future generations to come and enjoy the freedom that is limited in very few places on earth. Individuals that fought and helped in the wars had to endure the pain from the traumatic scenes from their experience. Freedom can affect you in many ways, from the way you think to the way…

America leads the way in freedom. The America I believe in is FREE. This freedom came at a high price. Many men and women gave up their own freedom as they joined our military and served our country on enemy soil. Many military men and women came into the military to help our county some of them went into war to fight for us so we can live. We should thank the military for fighting for us and giving up their lives just for us to live. Judd Greggs pinned it best, “The veterans of our military services have put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we enjoy. They have dedicated their lives to their country and deserve to be recognized for their commitment.” I admire the military. I guess in a world of villains and heroes; they are my…

If one your relative is a veteran you should thank them for what they have done. This is why you should be thankful that the veterans risked their lives for our freedom.…

I would have to go with the first amendment, however, I believe there are a few others that I mentioned that are equally important. The first amendment allows people voices to be heard when done in the correct manner. I love the fact that here in America we have the right to worship whatever religion we choose to believe in, protest acts that we may disagree on peacefully, and speak our minds reasonably. I enjoy this amendment for the simple reason that is shows you how powerful people are when they decide to work together. There are a total of five freedoms that this amendment alone addresses. They are as listed, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom to assemble peacefully, freedom of religion and the freedom to petition government…
