College Admissions Essay: The Color Blue
When you think of the color blue, what comes to mind? Is it the sky, the ocean, or the musical group? What if when someone mentioned the color blue, you thought of a way of life? What if it was the complex personality of a unique human? When I hear the word blue, I now think about myself. The blue group says things about my personality which makes me different from everyone else. Being a blue means you’re soft, but in a way that affects people positively. I am a blue because I’m a people pleaser, I’m overly emotional, and I value close friends. These traits of some of the few that make me who I am. Ever since I was young, I have valued making people happy. In fact, I probably over-obsess about this. When I’m with a group of people, I always try to talk to them evenly and include everyone in the conversation. When I was little, I would come up with comedy skits and perform them for my family to …show more content…
When it comes to friends, I have always been the person who believes in quality over quantity. However, it’s been difficult because some of my closest friends moved away in the same year. When they were all gone I had to start over again. I didn’t have a lot of luck until my freshman year of high school. I enrolled in theatre and band and got a job at our local Papa Murphy’s. Being involved in these activities forced me to put myself out there. On top of that, high school is a time of change. The sad truth is that people change and drift apart. The real friends are the ones who stay with you throughout the changes. So while it is a time of change, it is also a time of realization. This activity has helped me find myself, and be happy with the results. I’m a blue. I love to help people, so I have a good feeling I’m going to enjoy making it my profession. However, I need to work on making myself happy. Ahead of me I see a light of positivity and I can’t wait to jump out of my comfort zone to follow

The past few years, something new has been going on in my life, something I am not very familiar with. This something is change. I always dreaded change, even the word change itself. I was hanging out with the same group of friends since the beginning of high school, shared my best memories with and we were as close as can be. They truly were my second family. As I began my first semester in college, I became a very diligent and hard working person. Consistently working diligently in my studies and working to my upmost potential in my job. Unfortunately, some of my friends were not the same way and even though this may have upset me, I believe that I should always surround myself with people who have similar goals to my own. Although it was just this one thing, it had…

But in a restrictive environment, they get bored, restless and stressed due having to sit for long periods of time can result in their inattention. Lastly, they are actors, comedians, commercial artists, and musicians. The true colors actually fit my decision when it comes to choosing a career, due me having the same characteristics on being authentic (blue) as well as having the ability to notice in details (orange). But in career and color, I believe that I’m an orange due to having chosen the career as a director in which the orange characteristics focus on ability to notice and describe in rich detail. Even though as I also want to be a writer, which falls in the blue category, I tend to enjoy acting and directing more which falls in the orange category. So when it comes to deciding on which career I want in the future. I believe the true colors give me a blueprint on which careers are the right choice for me due to the characteristic on both colors in which if I look back to my past career choices, they tend to fit with my jobs that I used to…

I am a lucky person. I was raised by a very caring pair of parents with three very good siblings in an extremely affluent town. I attended the best grammar and high schools in the state, continued on to graduate from one of the best universities in the world, and had no idea what to do next. My drive to excel was both internal and external—I really do love success, but I was equally pressured by outside sources to succeed. The advantages I was given served both to help me start ahead of others and stay ahead in life, and to cripple me once I had traveled through those first two decade's worth of rites of passage.…

The colour preferred by individuals is blue (Wiegersma & Van Loon, 1989). Although, it is preferred, it does not mean it is universally favoured.
