College Admissions Essay: Let's Go PSU !
LET'S GO PSU! eventually, I would like to be chanting those same words. I would have all the spirit in the world for PSU like I have my whole life. There are a couple good reasons why you should accept me into your college. First reason is I'm a hardworking student. My transcripts show otherwise, but that's from bouncing between schools on opposite coasts. I am a student who takes pride in the school I go to and not just for the moment. During the good times, bad times, and even the ugly times I'm still full of spirit. My final reason is that I would be a good contributor to the campus. I love to help out and do volunteer work, because not only am I helping out the school but i'm also making friends and contributing to the happiness of other students and …show more content…
I've had my struggles as a student in the past, but i've changed and grown over the years. I really enjoy writing and giving speeches, because i enjoy being heard. my goal as a student is to get a career and life through hard work and dedication. I struggle in some fields of study such as math however, i can always find a way to get help and get it done. I moved back and forth from my freshman year to my junior year, which had an impact on my grades, and it was kind of a negative impact. That may make it harder for me to get into colleges but i'm determined to be accepted most anywhere i apply.

I take pride in the school i'm at. My highschool was based off of pride with the sporting events we participated in and even the band and choir. I've been a supporter of PSU spirit wise since the age of 13. I PSU apparel and all my favorite college teams are out of PSU. Spirit is one thing for me that's not at all a challenge. I would go to each and every game, partake in the student pride section and even tryout for mascot if possible. Going to PSU for me would be like going to Yale for a poor student. It's a dream of mine and if my dream happens to come true, i could easily return the

The reason my academics aren’t going well as you or I would like is because of the several family issues I’ve had to face during my high school career. It began my Sophomore year, I found out my mom needed surgery in her arm so the chances of her cancer spreading would be reduced. I was under a great deal of stress worrying about my mother, taking care of my four siblings making sure they knew everything was going to be okay, even though I wasn’t sure myself. It was all up to me; while my other brother worked to help with bills, my mom being in the hospital, and my dad working. Taking care of my siblings consisted of cooking, homework, cleaning, nightly routine, and putting them to bed. When the work was done it would be around 10 o'clock. It was already tough to buckle down and focus on homework without all the stress. With all this my first semester grade was less than great.…

For my post-secondary schooling, I have been accepted into, and planning to attend, Georgia Southern University. I chose this school for many different reasons, and going to orientation expanded those reasons. Georgia Southern offers many great opportunities for what I want to do in life. The campus is about an hour away from where I currently live, so it is close to home but not too close to home. The professors and staff are friendly and want to see the students succeed and are always ready to help. I could go on and on about why I chose this school, but I believe…

Throughout my life, I experienced many events that would make most people unable to function socially, emotionally, or academically. Most teenagers would have given up here as the disappointment from both their parents and teachers would have destroyed their hopes for a successful future. However, this anguish became a catalyst for what would become a significant restructuring in both my demeanor towards schoolwork and my perspective on the future. Against all odds I was able to bounce back from the discouragement I had faced. I believe that this…

With all the opportunities given to me outside of the classroom at Florida State, one thing that I would like to achieve is to know all the chants for the football games. Being from New Jersey, high school football is not the biggest deal. No one goes to play division one football and when the season is over, it is never talked about again. But at Florida State, football is a big deal. Learning these chants would make me a part of a community, something not found where I'm from. Assimilating to life in Tallahassee will be a huge transition for me. Life in New Jersey is cold, fast paced and very rigid. But down in Florida, everything is warm, there are friendly people and everyone speaks slower. Being a part of the community down in Florida State would facilitate this transition. Being a part of something makes you feel like you belong, and when you belong, you can thrive. A sense of community is something I would like to achieve…

When I found out I was moving to Alabama, I thought I would be surrounded by farm animals and miles of uninhabited terrain. Little did I know I was moving to the best place in the world. From the food to the theaters, Birmingham is the coolest city in the South. What I love about Samford is how much impact the university has on the community. Their community engagement sticks out to me because many other colleges focus on money and their sports teams, while at Samford, they invest in everyone. From art clubs to church ministry activities, Samford is involved. I want to be involved in my community as much as I can while I am at Samford because I know that I can be a difference…

Another reason I applied to UCF is "tradition". Ever since my family moved here from New York in 1995 I have witnessed firsthand the growth and transformation of UCF. Driving in the car down University Blvd with the gold and black banners hanging from the lampposts alerts you that you are entering the home of the Knights. From the alumni with their car flags to the students walking around the local malls in their UCF apparel, everyone is proud to be a "Knight". One of the biggest traditions at UCF is called the "Spirit Splash". This is a tradition that takes place during homecoming week and is one of the only times during the year that students, alumni, teachers, local residents and even pets can wade in the reflection pond on campus. Events like these "unite" a large university and make it seem like we all share something together.…

It is not a very crowded university, there are fewer students. It will be easier to go to class without a bunch of cars, people, and stallers.…

I have been in the fraternity for the good times, as well as the bad, I know the history of the organization, and where its goals lie in the future, I see the potential in the undergraduate members. Part of my job is to help the members steer the boat and help them navigate clear of any rough waters, and avoid any mistakes of our predecessors. Wanting to avoid rough patches does not mean settling for calm seas, or wide open pastures, I want to challenge the undergraduates to grow, and I have the comfort level with them to be able to issue that challenge, and to see results actualize.…
