College Admissions Essay: A Self-Analysis Of Education
Educational Self-Analysis Growing up I had this mindset where I believed that if I put effort into everything I did, I could accomplish anything and everything. When I was younger school was not difficult at all for me, I had high writing scores, I accomplished high reading levels, and my brain was always learning new things. But, somewhere along it changed and school was not my interest. High school starts, everything is going well my grades are B’s and A’s then I got distracted. I started hanging out with my friends and going out. Me as a person, I get distracted super easy so once I focused on my friends instead of school everything went downhill from there. I then had a fixed mentality of why am I going to try to do good in school if I am just going to attend PC, what was the point? Don’t get me wrong I didn’t start failing, I just did average, C’s were everywhere on my report …show more content…
Strive for more and never less, as she says. During school if I had a B I would get scowled, I wondered what I am doing wrong. She then said if I have a B, why don’t I have an A? Always strive for more. That really did help, she was only trying to benefit me. But, sometimes I also felt as if she was only trying to hinder my motivation and bring me down. I knew it was for my best, but the things she would say really hurt my feelings. Now as I see it, it only makes me try harder in everything I do when someone has brought me down only to prove them wrong. As this academic year progresses I am going to build onto my strengths by being more outspoken and voicing my opinion. Sometimes I tend to hold back onto things I want to say but I will stop that and speak my mind. The way I am going to address my problems is by fixing them. I want to meet my educational needs as soon as possible and if I keep talking during assignments then I won’t be focused. I want to be focused and understand every assignment that will be given to

In order to have a successful journey through college one must prepare extensively beforehand. I learned this concept after my parents told tales about what they wished they had done during high school to prepare for college. In order to lay the groundwork for my future education, I enrolled in advanced dual credit courses, took many significant tests, researched college campuses that I was interested in, and also filled out numerous applications. Together, the aforementioned steps set me up for an easy acceptance when the time arrived.…

Beginning my high school career, I thought high school would be an easy transition because I was accustomed to getting good grades in grammar school, so I did not put as much of an effort as I could have in my studies. The first biology test arrived, and I thought I was knowledgeable on the subject matter so I briefly looked over the material. Approximately a week later I got my test back and I was not satisfied with my grade. That happened for most of my first tests in each of my classes. I learned I would not be satisfied with my grades if I continued to keep those…

School came pretty easy for me for most of my life. I was homeschooled sense day one of my academic career and my mom taught me ninety percent of what I know today. I usually made good grades in outside classes and I did all of my work assigned. Even though I didn’t like it in the least I still passed with mostly A’s and B’s. Math was always my least favorite subject but honesty, as much as I hate to admit it, I’m decent at it. One thing that I really didn’t like to do was read. For whatever reason whenever reading was assigned I rolled my eyes and wished there was a way out of it. This problem never really made much sense to me. I just didn’t find delight in reading a book.…

I have been in school for twelve years and seen many friends drop out. I’ve never understood how they could make it so far and just give up. But the only thing that seems to make any since is a lack of determination. It is very good to have vivid image of the things you want in life. A lion doesn’t hunt its prey with its eyes closed so don’t blindly chase after a dream or hope to accomplish something without putting any effort towards it. Think about the things you want in the future and weigh out the possibilities. Once you know what you want in life then you can set goals to achieve your dreams. Although some people can have a very vivid image of the life they want, but when things get a bit rough they lose hope and walk away. As one of the greatest military leaders once said “The truest wisdom is a resolute determination” -Napoleon Bonaparte. I believe that means the best way to stay determined in achieving your personal goals is to stay focused, courageous, and decisive at all times.…

School is a place where your teachers and peers should always be counting on you and lifting your spirits up, not a place where you are told you will fail. Failure is something that every person encounters in there life, but how they get there defines who they are. Not winning or losing but the path you took and how hard you worked in achieving your goals. If your start with the right foundation and push yourself to the limit, whether you win or lose does not define you as a person, or at least you shouldn’t allow it to, because I certainly don’t. Walking into my class everyday and being told I will not go to college or that I will not succeed can be a real downer, but you can’t let others tell you what you can or cannot do. You must push through people's judgements and not allow it to define you. At the end of the day, how you are as a person defines your future and if that is true, I know that no matter what I put my mind to I can get there in the best way because I work hard, because school and testing does not come easy to me. I have to work for every little thing I do because I am not a machine that can process and memorize information on the first try.…
