College Admission Essay
My most prized possession is my mental stability and ethical background that I have acquired from my southern upbringing. Growing up in a rural community in the south and being reared by elderly parents allowed my seeds of character and respect to be nurtured by an entire village of people who saw my potential and wanted to see me succeed and thus pushed and prayed for my wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. As a child, series of unique experiences of being able to develop intimate and loving relationships with almost everyone in my community made me appreciate the influence of everyone on my life. It was not long before I realized that no matter how old or young, rich or poor, or educated a person was, everyone contributed to humanity’s niche …show more content…
I will patiently be self-motivated to make a smooth transition from high school or college without having an mental breakdown that may cause other complications. Most importantly, I will perfect my time management skills, for I am a firm believer that anything that is lost can be found again except for time wasted. I will use every waking moment to introspectively make a difference. I will be even more motivated to transition to college by remembering that my biggest completion is myself. I am determined to learn from my own mistakes while I am in college and also listen to the advice of others so that I will not wind up in avoidable circumstances. At every moment, I will motivate myself to be better than I was the moment before, for I know that it will be my mission to not only earn a degree, but to gain the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding through the education that I will receive at the university that those who were influential in my upbringing once prayed for. I will be mindful that my transition in college is preparing me for my transition in the workforce. Because of the challenges that I will overcome as I transition to college, I will one day be able to bring forth change on a global level to impact those affected by cardiovascular disease, starting with those who are affected the most: men, women, and children in the south of the United

I am a graduate from Glen Oaks Community College and I would love to continue my education with Glen Oaks and their Nursing Program. I am a very athletic person, therefore in my free time my activities include running, playing sports, coaching and being involved with my family. Working two jobs, one being a Nursing Assistant and Unit Technician at The Community Health Center of Branch County and the other doing in home care for an elderly patient, does make it difficult to find free time. With what little free time I do have I enjoy spending it with my family as they are very important to me. I try to make it a routine to visit with my grandmas to have lunch with them and to drive them around where ever is needed due to the fact that they both cannot drive. I am currently training to run a marathon in May. During softball season, I volunteer with the coaching staff at the Coldwater High School. My greatest satisfaction so far in life, is the fact that I am one of few to have graduated from a college with a degree within my family. I am proud to say that I have paid for me education with my hard work. I hope with the help of Glen Oaks Community College I can obtain a new satisfaction of becoming a nurse. It would be my dream come true.…

As a child, I constantly had my nose in a book. Reading came quite naturally to me, Jane Robinson, and I still carry that passion today. As I grew, I gained another passion; writing. Elementary started my passion through the teachers making the class journal about their lives. These journals helped me to learn to write down my thoughts and keep track of them in chronological order. Writing continues to be a vital part of my education that I enjoy.…

"If there's a will, there's a way" is a motto that I've lived by. I still remember when I was young. I greatly disliked math and it appeared to dislike me. I was going to accept the fact that I might not be able to become a math person. I purposely did not do well on almost all of my math exams in elementary school. I virtually gave up. And living in xxx, it was a pretty cut-throat environment. However, as I grew older I felt the need to challenge myself. For that reason, I had slowly developed a personal drive for excellence as I grew and I always expected greatness from myself. I felt I needed to defeat my worst fear- math. I believed that if I faced it with a positive attitude, I would eventually find a way to overcome it. By the time I turned twelve, I began to enjoy doing math and it recently has become my favorite subject.…

Learning stimulates the mind and opens doors to a more vibrant and fulfilling life. In my opinion, learning is the foundation to leadership, service, and global awareness. I strive to have an open mind and take in as much as I can on a daily basis. This has led to me realizing my passions in life, passions that have led me to participate in many service programs and to acquiring a leading role in an organization in the special needs community. Also, recently I went to a global awareness seminar at a local college and have decided to go on a mission trip this summer to Zambia if at all possible. I have become actively involved in all of these things that are beneficial for me and, more importantly, others because I love to learn. I love to learn about the world, about politics, about my faith, about people, about anything I can wrap my head around.…
