Cold Months Research Paper
During the colder months people tend to stay inside and not get as much physical activity. However this is mostly not the case for me. During the cold months I continue multiple sports and to keep my body healthy. During the cold months I still fit in daily exercise, some things I do cause me to be inactive and I do incorporate other healthy lifestyle choices into my daily routine.

For me the I do not let the weather or temperature determine the amount of exercise I get in a day. I play Ice Hockey indoors four or more days a week for 2 hours. I also condition for my hockey by doing a 30 minute basic exercise each day. I play basketball five days a week, and play volleyball which is indoors.Skiing and Snowboarding is also something I do during the winter months about once a week. I often go on runs about twice a week for 3 miles. These are just some of the ways I stay active while the weather is cold and limited outdoor activity permitting.

Such as my phone, hanging out with my friends, homework, or clubs. Sometimes I would rather watch television than go on a run and that has happened before. Along with going to hangout with my friends instead of going to hockey practice. If I miss practice I usually make it up by going on a run or shooting hoops, pucks or serving in my backyard.

You can do many things other than sports or exercise to keep a healthy lifestyle. Such as brushing your teeth so you do receive cavities and to grow strong tooth enamel, or washing your clothes so you don't smell and your body stays clean. Another very basic way to maintain a healthy lifestyle is to shower, you can also clip your fingernails so you don't get an infection from scratching someone or collecting dirt. Getting a good night's rest is very important too, so you have energy throughout the day. I do all of these things to keep good personal hygiene and I am generally happier when i've had a good

During marching band season, band takes up the vast majority of my time and it takes up even more due to the fact that I am part of the drumline. Our school has the drumline participate in various events around the school causing me to dedicate even more time to band. Once marching band season ends and concert season begins, I begin to dedicate more time towards working and less time towards band. This makes it so that throughout the majority of the school year I do not have much leisure time at all. However every day I do some form of exercising, either running or lifting weights. Recently, I have been preparing to run a half marathon sometime in January.…

Hey McKenna, I think we are both along the same thought process, and especially when it comes to agreeing with Dr. Skinner. I too thought that in order to reach the product of being fit, you first need to be physically active. In addition to that, if someone has not been very active at all and yet they jump right into fitness routines, it could prove to be problematic. Furthermore, I like the points you made about warming up and cooling down before and after being physically active. In particular, I like how you mentioned that without warming up or cooling down, you can perhaps get injured. I agree with that, and in one of my former classes, which was entitled, Preventative Athletic Injuries; I learned how much of an injury prevention warm-up…
