Coca-Cola has been the dominant beverage company in the cola market for a large number of years. Their popularity has soared making them an easily recognizable brand with an image that almost sells it self, literally. Coca-Cola hasn’t always had the best of luck in the history of their existence, whether it be issues with their bottling facilities or having to deal with competition taking away their huge lead in market share. This case is about the war between Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
Utilizing tool number two of the marketing tools, I looked into the mission statements for both Coke and Pepsi. The mission statement of the Coca-Cola Company is: "To refresh the world... To inspire moments of optimism and happiness...To create value and make a difference." Beyond its mission, the Coca-Cola Company also has an official Vision to help it achieve sustainable growth. This was easily found on Coca-Cola’s website along with their company vision and their company goals. The mission statement of PepsiCo is: "Our mission is to be the world's premier consumer products company focused on convenient foods and beverages. We seek to produce financial rewards to investors as we provide opportunities for growth and enrichment to our employees, our business partners and the communities in which we operate. And in everything we do, we strive for honesty, fairness and integrity." PepsiCo’s website also had their mission statement easily accessible as well as their vision and overall values as a company.

Tool number three was used to analyze the goals, values, and some objectives that both of the companies have. Both companies’ values are similar. They both know that people and customers are extremely important to them and that they are necessary in the success of all their products. Coke and Pepsi both agree that they need to produce products that they can be proud of and that

For more than a century, Coca Cola and PepsiCo have been the major competitors within the soft drink market. By employing various advertising tactics, strategies such as blind taste tests, and reward initiatives for the consumer, they have grown to become oligopolistic rivals. In the soft-drink business, “The Coca-Cola Company” and “PepsiCo, Incorporated” hold most of the market shares in virtually every region of the world. They have brands that the consumers want, whether it be soft-drink brands or in PepsioCo’s case, snacks. With only one soft-drink market, the two competitors have no choice but to increase sales by stealing the other competitor’s clients. This led to the term, the “cola wars” which was first used to describe the “mutually-targeted” marketing campaigns in the 1980s and 1990s. A revival of the Cola wars is occurring now as PepsiCo remakes a well-known comparative commercial and resurfaces old tactics used in 1979. A closer look at their advertising styles and market shares will provide us with an idea of how the future will be for these two competitors.…

Compare and Contrast I have decided to compare and contrast the Coke a Cola and Pepsi Cola websites. I found that these two companies have been fighting to bring customers to their side since the birth of the two companies. If you ask anyone who drinks soda, they have a favorite, wether it being Coke or Pepsi. A major factor in getting a customer to buy your product is marketing. If a company appears to the public as an inviting company, people will flock to them. This is especially important in a case such as this where the two products are very similar in taste. In this essay I will compare the two websites in their ability to build a relationship with the customer and you will know which company is the better marketer.…
