As being a part of our society, we play many roles in our life. Each role has its own rule to follow. In a healthcare setting, a HIM professional have regulations, standards, Code of Ethics that needs to be follow. It is really important for a HIM profession to conform and understand meaning of Code of Ethics which established by CHIMA. In order to achieve an ethical working environment, Code of Ethics not only can regulate, but also influence and encourage staff to pursue our goals.
But we still have to face the truth that not everyone will abide by the regulation correctly. In this case study, it’s an example of a breach of the Code of Ethics. First, this student violated Code 2 by violating the confidentiality of health information,
