Assess how Ericsson benefitted from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in terms of cost reduction, automated software updates, remote access, and on-demand availability. Ericsson benefitted from AWS in cost reduction, in 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began offering IT infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now commonly known as cloud computing. One of the key benefits of cloud computing is the opportunity to replace up-front capital infrastructure expenses with low variable costs that scale with your business. With the Cloud, businesses no longer need to plan for and procure servers and other IT infrastructure weeks or months in advance. Instead, they can instantly spin up hundreds or thousands of servers in minutes and deliver results faster. Seven reasons customers are saving money with AWS:

1. They assist customers in replacing up-front capital expense with low variable cost. 2. The provision of massive economies of scale and efficiency improvements allow them to continually lower prices. 3. Multiple pricing models allow customers to optimize costs for both variable and stable workloads. 4. Cloud computing drives down IT labor costs both up-front and on an on-going basis. 5. AWS delivers a premium security spec at non-premium prices. 6. AWS allows customer workloads to be highly available for a fraction of the cost (PER *Ericsson article)

AWS creates a venue whereby customers can expect updates, access and availability to be on-time everytime . The Amazon Web Services has established a way to put a global infrastructure in the hands of even the smallest consumer, Ericsson has maximized on this capability and discovered excellence.
