Climate Change In Sydney
Sydney has just experienced its warmest day ever with the highest record breaking temperature ever recorded, going up to 47 degrees across the east this afternoon.
At 2:43 pm, the heat wave that passed through Sydney reached a peak of 47.1 degrees, breaking the record in Penrith from 2013 by 0.6 degrees (46.4 degrees in 2013). These heat waves are triggered by climate change, which is caused by the burning of fossil fuels. These fossil fuels release carbon dioxide into the air. This results in the ice around the world to melt, sea levels to rise and has brought a breakthrough in unstable weather events.
