Man made change If we have never had been here, then the earth would have gone on healthy and the way it should, but since we are here there are disruptive thing on the earth that are causing the destruction on the earth. And most of these factors are man made, if not all are man made
What I think Deciding whether global warming is natural or man made is very difficult. There are many reasons for each side and it is very hard to decide. In my opinion, global warming is man made. I think this for many reasons. One reason is that since we have had new technology, such as cars (which need fuel, meaning burning fossil fuels, releasing Co2), we have had a higher carbon footprint. If we didn't burn fossil fuels, there would be less carbon emission.
All the green house gases aren't going nowhere. It is because of the people that these green house gases are being released. And if you haven't known, well, the gas destroys the ozone that protects us from the sun's ultraviolet rays. Thus, we have no protection from the sun's rays and the weather gets hotter. And when the weather gets hotter the ice glaciers in Antarctica melt and the Oceans will rise and overflow. It's an endless chain of cause and effect.
No sane person can say we are doing 'zero' harm! The question should have been asked better, but I had to vote yes, as for the most part, I agree with the statement. I have nothing scientific for you, just a belief that there is no way 'to much of something is ever good for you', and in this case the you is the Planet! Sure CO2 etc are naturally occurring and I am sure had industrialized man never been here, the climate will still have changed for a variety of reasons, but not now and possibly slower - but the ever increasing 'rate' that man, is pumping crap into our atmosphere is the unnatural thing! Hence why I think we cannot be doing zero harm!
Yes, global climate change is definitely man-made. The most prominent reason is that most of the energy we depend on is coming from the fossil fuels and its burning produced carbon dioxide, the main cause for global climate change. Another reason is that forests are disappearing because of many purposes for human life. Without strong change in our energy source and use, global climate change will get worse.
According to the IPCC... There is basically a scientific consensus on this issue. Not a single scientific institution or society of national or international recognition has dissented to the IPCC's report which concludes that upwards of 90% of climate change is caused by humans. You can't burn carbons that have been stored under the earth's crust for hundreds of thousands of years without expecting an uptick in CO2 concentration and therefore an uptick in global temperatures. The natural world is very efficient at cleaning up the CO2 that it produces (e.g. volcanos) by storing it in various forms of plant life and then allowing it to be buried under the earth's crust. Natural factors come nowhere near close to explaining recent warming.
We are a small contributor to Global Warming so why are we the cause? Think of the Earth's temperature as a cup with a hole in the bottom and that the cup is filled with water at the same rate at which it loses water. If we were to increase the amount of water added to the cup by say...6%, the water would slowly rise because it cannot drain it fast enough. The same is with Global warming where non-human actions (phytoplankton, or volcanoes) do make up the majority of Carbon Dioxide production (Over 90%), however the majority of that CO2 buildup in the atmosphere has a lifespan of 100-200 years before it is reabsorbed by geosphere and hydrosphere organics (plants). This 'global warming' cycle is what keeps the planet's temperature near stable with some natural heating and cooling over millions of years. The difference is that humans have added that "6%", as in the extra CO2 we have added is not natural to the Earth's CO2 cycle. Basically we are the cause of higher CO2 concentrations, not because of how much CO2 we are adding, but the fact that we pollute any at all. I mean we have only been producing CO2 in large quantities for less than 400 years whereas the millions of years before haven't seen changes so fast in CO2 concentrations since the last mass extinction. The comments like "The Earth is too big to be harmed" is like saying there are too many trees to be cut down. The Earth is very very finite when you think about it, so the impacts we cause to her are astronomical with Global warming being one of them regardless of the planets size. I know there are many people who don't believe it for religious or cultural reasons and I can fully understand and respect that choice, but for those who state science as their counter-point please do a lot of research before saying what they read online to be the 100% pure truth. It is Obviously Man-Made. It is definitely man-made, because most of the machines we use every day need fire. The fumes go in the air and the ozone layer reduces an the sun shines on us more directly and more efficiently. Another thing is that forests are disappearing for many purposes because of human life.
Humans are part of the source We humans since the 1760`s have been using coal to heat our homes, grills, and trains.
But not all is us.
We are accelerating the possess of nature.
We need to stop in order to get back to the days of fresh air and cleaner water.

The rise of the industrial world. As the world has become more and more industrialized we have been using up more and more of the world's natural resources. The idea that this has no link on the rising CO2 levels and recent climate patterns is committing ourselves to a life of ignorance. 90% of climate scientists agree that human factors are contributing to climate change. Measurements show that the temperature is rising faster than it has than in the last 650,000 years. Even if we go through short "cycles" of temperature ups and downs, there are a lot of places that are already being affected by an obvious continuing warmth. There are hundreds (thousands?) of glaciers that are disappearing all over the world and it is estimated that the arctic will have little to no ice WITHIN MY LIFETIME. WHAT. The idea that SEVEN BILLION people living on this earth and driving cars, raising cows (which fart methane gas), trucking and boating and flying around is having NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER is absolute bull.
Yes, it is supposed to be a cooling period. A heat spike like this has not happened in the last 11,000 years. Based on previous records, the globe should be following a cooling period. Humans of the modern day have obviously been the largest cause of climate change. With the dastardly use of fossil fuels on the rise, the carbon emissions are only worsening. Sediment and polar ice samples have been taken from all over the world. Chemicals found in the deep fossils are good proxy's of long ago temperatures. Patterns of heating and cooling have been followed over our history, but humans have clearly disrupted nature's natural cycle. We have been careless over long-term affects, and our usage of fossil fuels is the reason for the earth's increasing inferno.

Yes, it is. People use fossil fuels and they produce carbon dioxide and the CO2 causes climate change in the atmosphere. Due to the increase in technology people are producing even more CO2. There are not many trees to absorb CO2 and they contribute by bringing cyclones and floods . Many years ago the weather patterns were cooler but now in 2013 there are more natural disasters.
