I will have a very patient and calm attitude with my class. I will ask students about their life outside of class so they feel comfortable. I want students to be a part of their learning. I want to involve students in rules about the classroom and if students feel they are involved in the workings of the classroom, they will be more motivated to engage in the class and in turn, learn. Being a facilitator of learning, following through on the procedures put into place, expecting that my students will learn, and setting the pace and environment for learning all make my class a well managed classroom.…
Maria is a 23-year-old female on disability pension. She left school since she was 12 years old and currently staying with her grandmother in Dromana. She has a long history of Borderline Personality Disorder with a self-harming behaviour and been experiencing chronic suicidal thoughts which often occur spontaneously with clearly definable triggers. These thoughts can be managed effectively well by the use of distraction/relaxation techniques, however, her level of distress can quickly escalate to an acute crisis situation whereby Maria becomes overwhelmed by the desire to end her life and emotional pain. Maria will then attempt to self-lacerate to reduce her distress or overdose on over the counter or prescribed medication.…

What does meaning of unlearning? The “unlearning” is not meaning do not study the knowledge, or an antonym word of “learning”. In fact, the word “unlearning” is not meaning as it shows, it means people should think about themselves, to understand who they are and what they good at and poor at. Therefore, people can improve themselves better than they were. In the article, “Project Classroom Makeover”, Cathy Davidson points out that as a faculty chairs at Duke University, she lets the Duke students try a new way of study the knowledge which using IPod replace the textbook. So this is a kind of unlearning, which to broke an old rule—using textbook for studying. However, now it becomes to use iPod. No one has the same idea before. During the experiment,…
If the teacher is unable to control the class, chaos is bound to happen. The teacher should set clear rules and expectations. The children should be able to understand what is expected of them. The teacher should go over expectations as needed. Structure and routine is also important. A schedule should be made and followed. The children should follow the schedule to know what to expect. Teachers should be organized to avoid feeling frazzled. Students can help within the classroom with daily jobs. During transition times a timer can be used and switching locations to ease students to the next activity. Giving students guidance and staying calm during stressful situations can also help. Classroom management is all about the planning. A teacher should be prepared and understand to take things day by day.…
