Dear Diary
Right now I’m sitting in the Landie writing this. We’re on the way back from our first trip to Hell, bouncing along this remote road. This morning we woke up early to get our stuff packed. We have been staying down in Hell for the last five interesting days. Down in a little clearing surrounded by thick, dense scrub and a fresh cool nearby creek below Satan’s Steps. It’s the perfect place to get away from normal life. I don’t know why the Wirrawee people call it Hell, it was a beautiful place; just nature, the scenes the sounds everything. There’s a lot to talk about this time. Robyn was with Lee and he had been shot in the leg. I was so worried about him; I really like him but I don’t know how serious we are. They were running from the Soldiers when Robyn noticed Lee was in pain. They met up with the local dentist who was hiding in his house so he stitched Lee up and taught Robyn how to take them out whilst giving them a confirmation that our parents are at the showgrounds. We devised a plan to rescue Lee who was hiding at his family restaurant, and instead of sneaking in we went with a bulldozer and rolled in like a battering ram. We were being shot at and in defense we ended up crushing two cars. Corrie noticed that my head had blood all over it but it was fine in the end. Then Homer picked us up in a BMW and we went to Chris’ house to dump it. While we were dumping the car in the dam Chris came out and had a short chat. We decided, after a while that we would bring him back to Hell with us even though he’s a bit of a druggo and an alcoholic. A Helicopter almost saw us at Corries then a few hours later a jet flew in and blew the place up. Corrie screamed a we watched the house expand and heard the deafening BOOM! Then the pieces float and fall to the ground. After that we hid in the haystack. Lee and I were lying next to each other. The we started kissing so we must be getting more serious that I thought. Were back at my place and last night was the most adrenaline rush I’ve had and scared I’ve ever been in my life. Lee Fi Homer and I made a plan after we saw they were coming into town by the bridge. Lee and Homer would scare the cattle onto the bridge while Fi and I parked a petrol tanker from Currs under the end of the bridge. The cattle would be enough to make the men concentrate on them while Fi and I ran for the bushes. The men started shooting at us. I saw my life flashing before me. All the things I had done. Killing those men, having a relationship with Lee, all of it. None of the bullets touched me. We had some motorbikes then I would light the fuse and the tanker would blow up the bridge and we would get out of there as fast as we could. It worked! I couldn’t believe it. I was so happy but that happiness didn’t last long because we got back to my place and we knew something was wrong. Corrie was lying in Kevin’s lap all pale and sick looking. Then I heard the words “she’s been shot Ellie,” I nearly choked on the lump in my throat. Kevin wouldn’t leave her side so he drove her in to the hospital. We knew it was a sacrifice, they wouldn’t let Kevin back out of the hospital but this time Corrie really needed him. We watched them drive off to Wirrawee. Then Homer spoke in a soft tone, let’s go back to Hell. So that’s what we plan to
