Thesis: According to the quote, due to the Civil War The United States underwent a major change and had an important impact, it made the US the unsegregated nation we are today. This war was important to us becoming one nation, it spread peace among the United States.

Would you believe me if I told you that the world is what it is today because of war, even though war is still going on today? According to the quote, due to the Civil War The United States underwent a major change that a big affect on the US, it made it the unsegregated peaceful one nation we are today. An example of peace in the United States is how our nation uses trade as a sign of alliance and peace which came from the settlement after the Civil War? Peace was a major factor when it comes to having an impact on the United States, and it was not until Robert E. Lee surrendered the last Confederate army to Ulysses S. Grant that the United States became peaceful in spring of 1865. The Civil War brought the 13 colonies into agreement about many of their differences and set peace throughout everyone.
Our “One Nation, Under God”, as stated in the Pledge of Allegiance, was not always one nation, it was once split up into 13 different colonies (hence the 13 colonies). The colonies did not get along and had different views upon many different subjects, which is what lead to the war, therefore the war settled the colonies. If the war was not to happen and the US was still the 13 colonies, the tension between them would’ve lead to a bigger war. If the war was agonized all these years and happened now, a lot more lives would be taken, It was better for it to happen in 1861 than for it to happen during the

    The Civil War was the greatest and most important war ever to be fought on American soil. Though the events leading to the civil war had been ongoing for some time, the Civil War was never inevitable; it was the result of prejudices and extremism and failures in leadership on the sides of both the North and the South. The Civil War was at first a war to bring back the secessionists back to the union but it later became a much greater event, a war to end slavery and a war forever remembered by the America peoples. The South had many grievances against the North and vice versa and these problems later evolved into the war against the lifeblood of the South: Slavery. And thus, all slaves were set free by an act, an act long remembered by the colored peoples of America, The Emancipation proclamation. Before the war had been fought by the North to bring the South back in to the Union and by the South to stay a separate country.     The Civil War was not officially fought over the issue of slavery, but one of the most important outcomes of the war was the emancipation of all slaves in the United States. The reasons for southern states’ secession ranged from unfair duties imposed on the states to the recurring issue of slavery (Document A). This secession unofficially started the war and created great tension between the North and the South. President Lincoln’s main purpose of commencing war was to unite the divided nation, and with tactics such as his Emancipation Proclamation and gaining the Border States’ support he was able to achieve his goal of reunification.     In World War one, Woodrow Wilson insisted that the allies would negotiate only with a democratic government in Germany, and the Armistice did not go into effect until the Kaiser abdicated. In World War two the allies demanded the unconditional surrender of Axis governments in order to destroyed these governments and install new pones in their place. Both sides in the American Civil War feared that regime change would be the results of losing the war. By 1863, however the death and wounded of half a million soldiers had replaced the rage with a longing for peace. Seems like in the American Civil War, there was no possibility of peace without victory for either one side or the other. If there is to be peace one of two of the events has to happen. Either the Union was to be maintained, which would mean that the rebellion of the South had to be crushed, or that rebellion had to succeed in the establishment of a nation conceived on slavery. Lincoln did not believe that the Confederate agents had skills of negotiating. And if they did the Union president knew that his Southern “counterparts inflexible conditioned for peace was Confederate independence.” There are other conflicts that are not worth fighting for and where an honorable compromise can be made between two sides. I think that there is at least the possibility of a peace that satisfies both sides, even if neither side gets everything they want. Sometimes, there can be no peace without victory. This happens when there are only two options and an impossibility to compromised between the two, or when the argument involves matters of principle where there are only two options: yes or no. In such a case, any yes is victory to one side and any no is victory to the other.…

    Friday April 12, 1861, America embarked into war with its biggest adversary; America! The American Civil War broke out, and what was believed to be a quick battle by the North, turned out to be a long bloody four years and left the country devastated. President Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, successfully lead this country through its greatest constitutional, military and moral crisis. Everything he did was in the best interest in preserving this nation to what it is today. If President Lincoln task of preserving the union would have failed, our nation would be a split nation today. All the events of the Civil War are what truly shaped the face of America today. The President knew that if he wanted to preserve this nation as a whole, not only would he have to win the war, but he would have to have a plan in place to immediately fix the nation to help it move forward from war. During his time in the white house and towards the end of the war, when it was evident the North would prevail, he worked on a reconstruction plan to get the South up and moving. During the war, the northern armies had gone through the South destroying everything that would help the south to prevail in the war. The agricultural belt that was the strength of the was nothing more than ashes as the North marched his armies from Atlanta to the Sea, famously known as Sherman’s March, in which they destroyed everything from crops to railroads. After four long years of war, on April 10, 1865 General Lee surrendered, and the Civil War came to an end. Lincoln was preparing to move the nation forward in Reconstruction.
