Civil Liberties In A Democratic Government
Democracy is a government platform that is limited by the consent of the people. In a democratic government elected officials exercise power, our liberties and rights are guaranteed by the constitution. The democratic government offers a choice government officials based on elections offering different ideas. In a democracy everyone is subject to the rule of law, no one is above the law. In democratic government we support, encourage, and protect orderly demonstrations guaranteed by law (Shively, 2014).

Authoritarian government is not limited, all the power is held by one individual or group. Only select people’s rights and liberties are guaranteed. This is a single party system, there are no elections or at least they do not offer any choice.
