If I am supposed to express the gist of my cultivation, I would say, “In my experience, there is only one motivation and that is desire. No reasons or principle contain it or stand against it.” The belief that an education is most valuable when it is used to serve one’s community has been instilled in me. This conviction and a natural aptitude for science and mathematics convinced me to opt for civil engineering in bachelors as the most fitting career for me.…

Right from my early days, if there is something which mesmerized me, then it has to be huge structures like railroads, airports, highways and all such Mega Structures. After I grew up, I learnt that all my areas of interest coincided with what the course of Civil Engineering offered. This made Civil Engineering as my obvious choice for under-graduation. I worked hard towards my interest and secured admission into Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad which is one of the premier technical institutions of the country.…

Many people in my life have also suggested that I pursue engineering with my good math and science skills. Pursuing engineering was without a doubt the easiest and hardest decision I have ever made. This will be my third year at Missouri University of Science and Technology and I can still safely say this is the right fit for my personal needs for self-growth. I am always challenged and required to think in a vastly different way than I have ever been used to. My intended major now was mechanical engineering which is still very interesting to me, but I discovered the many intricacies of civil engineering and decided that I need to pursue it with much haste and tenacity. Civil engineers are a vital part to society as they design so many various structures like roads building plans and even recreational areas. Now, the only way to become an official civil engineer is through formal education. Through this university, my future will be vastly changed for the better by adding significant value to it. The challenges I face every day at Missouri S&T will most certainly be worth it in the end, for I know what I want and need in my life when I become a civil…

Knowing this definitely helped to understand the perception of the job about the challenges and the exciting part of it. I would love to take courses in geotechnical and I am also interested in having areas of focus in hydraulic and structural.…
