City and Country
LIVING IN THE COUNTRY IS BETTER THAN LIVING IN THE CITY
What should people consider when deciding where to live? There are many places in the city or out in the country in which there are great differences and similarities. Things to consider when deciding the area to live in are the environment, the population and the employment opportunities.
The country and the city have environments that are different. The country consists of the surroundings of nature. There are tall leafy green trees; grassy land that seems to goes on forever into the distance, many weeds and wild flowers growing throughout various areas and different wild animals roaming around the area that are discreet.
Unlike the country, the city is full of action. The city is full of different colorful lights at night, tall and short buildings all around, vehicles traveling at a steady pace, and people walking towards their destination. In the city, not much of nature or animals are within sight. It is a place that is fast paced compared to the country which is a slow paced environment. If you have two choices: life in the city or in the country, which one will you choose? .Some people think that city life has more benefits than country life; however, some people agree that country life is a real life like a nice dream: hearing nature’s music, seeing sights of the land and its beauty, and planting trees. Even though, city living and country living might be considered similar, as night and day but from a broader perspective, they both have some differences in conveniences, life conditions, and people's characteristics,

There are many differences between living in the city or in a country setting, but the country setting has many more advantages over the city. The air and water quality and other environment factors are improved in the country setting. The school system is safer and less crowded in a rural setting. The roads are not loaded with traffic and taxis. The country is safer than the city and crime rates are lower. In the country, there is an abundance of trees and vegetation. In the country, there are parks and open spaces, and there is a variety of wildlife to observe. When approaching the countryside you are immersed in the rolling hills of green, the smell of fresh cut grass invades your senses going hand in hand with the birds singing their sweet songs on the rolling air. There are more trees then you can count and it is very comforting scene all together. If you are city bound the city you are faced with tightly packed buildings, cram-packed streets filled with angry drivers forever late for this or that. Smog and a ripe stench that can’t seem to be placed take a permanent seat in your nostrils, walking is nearly impossible to do without running into someone. Definitely not the life for someone who treasures personal space and pleasantries that seem to be swept to the way side with city living. There are less pollution, fewer cars, and fewer factories in the countryside. This shows that the environment is better and more natural in the country. As opposed to a city filled with loud noises and factories which contribute to noise and environmental pollution.…

Many families and individuals find themselves at some point questioning the advantages of city living versus country living. It is nearly impossible to find a good answer to this question. What is good for one person might not be good for another. Some people enjoy the busy, hyper active metropolitan city where they can use all amenities and have unlimited opportunities for work and leisure. At the same time, other people feel the urge to be closer to Mother Nature, relaxation, beauty, and peace. They take pleasure in living in the calm and peaceful environment of the countryside and spending their free time fishing, hiking, picking berries in the woods, or playing in the creek. In my opinion, the nature of urban and rural life style and the effect it has on people is the most important difference between living in the city and living in the country. I feel fortunate to have grown up in the rural area. I would never trade my memories of playing in the creek, riding four wheelers, or climbing trees all within a short walk from my house. Health, education, and transportation are three major concerns that need to be considered. While city life can bring more opportunities in these cases, country life can provide the best of both worlds.…

My primary reason for choosing the country instead of the city is the clean environment. The air smells fresh and clean, because there are less cars creating pollution. In the city, there are busses, taxis, and cars on all the streets contributing harmful chemicals into the air. While automobiles are not the only cause of pollution, there are also more factories and plants to pollute the air. In the country, the only major industry would be farming, which does not pollute the air in any way. There are more people in the city breathing the air and less forest area to help control the pollution. Since there are less people in the country than in the city, the amount of littering on the roads is also less. The polluted air is very harmful to the human body and that is why I will choose to raise my family in the country where there is less pollution. The clean environment is not the only reason that I will choose to live in the country.…

Country life compared to city life differs in many ways pertaining to the economy, environment, society and lifestyle. Which community would someone pick based on these factors. First, relating to the economical differences, cities have plenty of job opportunities there are many businesses and homes to work. Also, public transportation makes it easier to get to work, compared to the country. Country areas are far away from big business, so farming and living of the land is what most people do. But, some people still drive a hundred or more miles to work every day to the closest city or business. So living in the city costs less for fuel compared to the country. Country people who farm need fuel for their equipment, so keep in mind the cost. But, Studies say twenty years from now; high demand of food will affect the farming industry in a positive way. The looks and architecture of a city is different than countryside. Cities are full of cemented buildings and everything is clustered. That means that there is less space for everything. In countryside, there are fewer infrastructures so there is space everywhere. The houses are so big and they don’t come with a garden, you get a land with it. It’s less populated in countryside but it is calm, less noisy and you are near natural environments. That means it’s greener and full of trees and various animals compared to the gray look of cities that houses tons of squirrels.…

Even though city living and country living might have their similarities, a broader perspective shows that they both have some differences in conveniences, life conditions, and people’s characteristics. The first similarity is convenience. Most people argue that this is only a characteristic of city life, but that is not always true. For example, even though both have access to places such as hospitals, malls, restaurants, or church, still, they vary in time to commute to these facilities. While in a big city, the travel to the store might be further than in the country.…
