Business Need

We need to create, implement and ingrate an automotive parts department with our current dealership. We currently have 2 local automotive stores and would like to open a third due to growth. We currently do not have an in-house parts department and have recently pulled our mechanics in-house and have decided to do the same with our parts department. We would like to have this accomplished within a year.

Functionality

We need our parts department to be able to communicate with our other locations, order parts quickly, check and inventory parts, be notified when certain stock items are running low, and integrate with our automotive service center and our finance department.

Expected Value

Tangible:

• Save money by having parts in-house and being able to purchase directly from vendor with no markup

• Reduce running around to pick-up simple stock parts

• Reduce wait time allowing us to work on more vehicles

• Increase revenue from additional parts sales

• Set operational standards for parts department to decrease training cost and time

Intangible:

• We pick the hours we are open so we don’t have to worry about contacting a parts store

• Increase in customer satisfaction due to decreased customer wait time

• Better overall systems accountability and departmental communication
