Great visual effects, an entertainable plot, relatable topics - these are some of the elements that every ‘good’ movie should include to allow the best possible viewing experience for all.Director Mike Mitchell’s Disney film, Sky High, encompasses all of these factors to make the viewer feel like they are part of the action on screen. The film was released in 2005 and since has grossed $86.5 million US because of its family friendly, action-packed nature. The use of special effects and cinematic techniques help to leave the audience on the edge of their seats and assists in transmitting the message - the value of a person should never be underestimated.

In one scene, when Will enters the bathroom, one of his sidekick friends is seen stumbling away from the toilet and is chased away by the heroes. The bullies then turn to Will and ask if he will be joining them in dunking side-kicks heads in the toilet. Another example of this bullying and ignorance is when Layla enters Will’s house party. Whoever she passes glares at her with disgust so as to belittle her and another hero is seen to say “Who invited a sidekick?” with disgust. Even these simple acts help the viewer to understand the hatred that is shown to the sidekicks and to feel a sort of sympathy towards them.
