Cinderella By Grimm Brothers Grimm

“Cinderella”, is a fairy tale written by Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm better known as the Grimm brothers. This is a common story that almost everyone has heard of. There are forms of different versions of the Cinderella story that involve books, and movies. Most stories involve Cinderella being mistreated by her evil stepmother and step sisters. Then Cinderella goes to a ball and falls in love with a prince. There is a reason why this story has been used for generations and that’s because it has an excellent story structure for children. It has an equal balance of good and bad principles and shows children that they can overcome bad situations they might be facing at home or school. The brothers Grimm version of Cinderella is a good story for …show more content…
One of the first examples in the story is when her dad remarries. The stepmom says “What does the goodfor-nothing thing want in the parlor?” ;and they took away her fine clothes, and gave her an old frock to put on, and laughed at her and turned her into the kitchen.(Grimm) This is controversial because that is not how you should treat family and it is a bad example for children. However earlier in the story it explained that they are not nice people “This new wife had two daughters of her own: they were fair in face but foul at heart, and it was now a sorry time for the poor little girl.”(Grimm) So actually it is a good example because it tells kids that it is bad. Cinderella is mistreated again when she tries to attend the ball and her mother replies, “It is all of no use, you cannot go; you have no clothes, and cannot dance; and you would only put us to shame.”(Grimm) This is bad parents telling her kid it would only bring shame but kids can understand that they are evil characters and that it’s not true because she ends up going to the ball and being amazing enough for the prince to fall in love with …show more content…
It’s a story for children because all that children notice are the main points which are good things and will teach those values. For example it’s that Cinderella can overcome adversity and eventually reach her goals. Also that she receives help from her parents in her gift from her dad and the magic tree that represents her mom showing the importance of parents. Most of all that everything ends up ok and she lives happily ever after; this is the most important aspect because it shows kids that they should always have hope. There is no reason to focus on the bad aspects of the feminist argument because kids don’t need to recognize that stuff. If you focus on the good things they won’t and the story will only be good for children. I believe that Cinderella is a great story for children because they can learn a lot from it. However I cannot tell a parent that it is ok for their child to watch because that is their decision to make. I know parent will see things in the story that they might not want their kids to here but if they can just look past that and see the bigger picture of the story and the morals it teaches. Kids won’t read into the story and see bad things like adults do; they look at the basic elements of the story which are all important for children to know. In my opinion Cinderella is the best fairytale of all time and will be enjoyed and teach kids good lessons for many years to

Cinderella Comparative paragraph Although both the 1989 movie adaptation of the fairy tale, Cinderella, and the Grimm Brothers’ text of Cinderella, tell a similar story, I prefer the excitement of the film because the pace of the movie is faster, the sense of humour adds obvious benefits, and the colours are very symbolic and vibrant. Firstly, the movie goes at a very fast pace. For instance, in the movie, Cinderella goes twice to the King’s three-day festival. However, in the text she goes…

The Brother's Grimm Many believe that Disney created the first fairytales or even the most famous such as Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel. However, this is not true. Fairy tales have been passed down from generation to generation, each person in one way or another altering the tale to reflect a piece of their life in the work. But where did the first fairytales come from? No one really knows. Story telling began as an oral tradition and fairy tales were a way to interest children in these…

Over the years, Grimm fairytales have become childhood favourites. Though children's tales were not what the Grimm brothers originally had in mind with their gruesome style of writing, the two authors have become tremendously popular amongst the ages. The stories of "Hansel and Gretel" and "Little Red Cap" are both widely known and accepted fairytales. Both stories involve children wandering about the woods and facing a threatening mythical character. They each include the traditional "happily ever…

2015 Professor Schleicher Disney’s Cinderella vs The Brothers Grimm The story of Cinderella is a very well-known folk tale that dates back centuries. Today, most people know the tale from the popular Disney movie made in the early 1950’s. This movie did do a pretty good job of capturing the overall theme of the original folk-tale; however, there are many differing factors between this version and the older version to which I’ll be comparing it (the Brothers Grimm version written in the 19th century)…
