Cilnidipine And Chlorthalidone Case Study
A simple, specific, accurate and rapid reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the simultaneous estimation of cilnidipine and chlorthalidone, using a Hiber® C18 (25cm x 4.6 mm), Lichrospher® 100, RP-18 e (5µm) column and a mobile phase composed of phosphate buffer(pH 4.0 adjusted with orthophosphoric acid) : Acetonitrile (30:70, v/v). The retention times of Cilnidipine and Chlorthalidone were found to be 3.967 min and 6.427 min, respectively. Linearity was established for Cilnidipine and Chlorthalidone in the range of 5-15 μg/ml and 6.25-18.75 μg/ml, respectively. The percentage recoveries of Cilnidipine and Chlorthalidone were found to be in the range of 100.053-100.959% and 100.326-100.90%, respectively.

Filtered solutions were ultrasonicated for 20 min.100 mg of Cilnidipine and 125 mg Chlorthalidone were weighed accurately and transferred to 100 ml volumetric flask seperately and volume was made up with Methanol. Standard stock solution of both the drugs were used for the preparation of binary mixture of CIL and CHL.1.0 ml CIL Standard stock solution and 1.0 ml CHL standard stock solution were taken in 100 ml flask , and volume was made up with methanol.(10 µg/ml CIL, 12.5 µg/ml
