Christopher Mccandless Character Analysis

It seems to me that Christopher was anything but a heroic character. McCandless was so obsessed with being on his own and living on literature that he was not prepared. After all McCandless arrived in Alaska with peoples help. I believe that if he would not have found the people on the way to help him he would not have made it. The self-inflicted pain that he felt would not allow him to get attached to someone. Although, the people that had the chance to know him described him as a talented and genuine person, capable of doing whatever he intended to do.
