Never before, and never again, have I experienced a Christmas like this. For the 2nd time in nine years, the entire Kearns family reunited! Finally I have the chance to make a good first impression of myself on my Fathers side of the family. The last time I saw, this half of my dads family was when I was nine years old, and was beyond eager to meet face to face again. I remembered that these guys, from when I was nine, where really cool and almost a role model for who I want to be. Ya know I was young and they did all the cool things, even dressed cool as far as I can remember. Now, my fathers, brother, Gary and his wife Anne, first son Jack and youngest Luke. Live in Colorado, arranged to come out to my families house for Christmas week. Along with my fathers, father, who we’ve given the nickname, Big D, is flying from his retirement home in Florida to also spend Christmas week with my family. So this was a huge deal to everyone the family. So basically, bringing the family together is never easy.
I can always recall the last time the other half of my family visited, I look up-to my fathers, older brother, Joe III, his wife Carla and two sons, Joe IV and Robert. Who also live out in
Colorado as far as I knew, and are never stationary at one house for more then a year. Sadly, one family member didn’t make it, and that is my fathers sister. Emily, from which I’ve heard, isn’t the most caring type. She moved out at the age of 18 and never really keeps connections with any family members. I don’t truly care to meet Emily, curious about her, but never interested enough to do anything. Thats mainly because she isn’t ever really spoken of nicely. Whenever, Mike, Gary, and Joe spoke of her, it isn’t just rainbows and unicorns, it’s harsh stuff.
