Chosen Career Field
My Chosen Career Field As a child, I always found myself participating in creative activities. My siblings and I were always playing make believe from acting as if we were in college or grown up to running up and down our neighborhood’s sidewalks as secret spies on a mission to save the world! When I was first introduced to writing short stories in grade school, I became hooked because I could literally depict any image I wanted to and that sparked my 7 year old brain. There were always movies playing in my head; it was crucial to me to produce those visions. Now, as a senior in high school, I have become partial to not only writing fictional narratives but non-fiction narratives as well. I have applied and been accepted to Clark Atlanta University

My parents escaped Iraq during the first Gulf War with none of their personal belongings, such as their diplomas. This didn’t stop my mom from going back to school in the United States and receiving her diploma again. I became inspired by her to finish my education and to become a writer, to not let obstacles prevent me from achieving what I want. The privilege I had that many others did not allowed me to know from a very young age where I was headed in life. The two constants I’ve had in my entire life have been school and writing. I began writing from early age, beginning with writing in other people’s books to my mother’s dismay. Soon, I would begin creating stories in class to make up my somewhat uninteresting life. I don’t remember a time I didn’t want to become a writer and I feel like University of Washington will further my career along. Which is why I want to get my diploma for English. My mother’s fight for her education allowed my literary world to expand and become as vast as it is…

The next three years of middle school could bring nothing but positivity and joy to my reading and writing career. I was indulging myself in interesting books, like Animal Farm and The Stranger and Maniac Magee. I did nothing less than expected, I succeeded in my English language art and writing classes. I felt great. I loved to read and write so, I decided to take my love for the arts to a different height- I joined a creative writing club. My middle school creative writing club was so fresh and new. It was headed by two creative writing majors from Howard University. They were interning for class credit and they were something like my new heroes. They introduced us to free write poetry and shared their own. They weren’t just creative in writing but the arts and other fanciful things that made me interested in not only writing arts but other arts as well. I was intrigued with the different forms of writing they exposed us to. The club in all taught me about poetry and free writes and scripts and dialogue too. As a group we wrote plays, long verse poems and just stories to express how we felt. Sometimes we even acted out our writings.…

I struggled to write my stories when non-fiction meant ‘real life’. I did not know what I wanted to write and how much of my own life I wanted to share. I am not a very open person, but I do enjoy sharing anecdotes of adventures in my life. When it came to writing non-fiction, I felt like I had to expose who I am and reveal my secrets. In my writing, I do not think I could hide anything. The Mixed-Genre class became my sense for self-discovery. I started figuring out who I am as a writer and I realized throughout this course, my writing became an identity. I truly gained a better understanding of myself, learning new forms of writing and read texts I would never have chosen to read.…

As I have said before, creative writing is near the center of my life. I feel like storytelling will always be a part of me. This is a large reason why English is a very important class to me. If I do well in English class, and strive for greatness, I will be able to continue my creative writing skills on a larger level. Reading comprehension naturally goes along with creative writing. I have always been good at reading between the lines. I recently noticed that in all of my writing pieces I have put in motives, metaphors, simlies, and more literary devices I had never noticed before. Later in my academic career I would like to learn more of the figurative meanings of stories.…

A stereotypical computer programmer is some nerd, sitting in a cubical, typing code into a computer all day long, and then they go home sleep, rinse and repeat. Fortunately in real life computer programmers aren’t nerds that sat at cubicles all day. Yes, a part of their jobs includes typing code into a computer and telling it what to do Computer programmers can code anything they want, from making a program display photos you took, to making a program keep track of you meals for the week. The first stage in their work involves dealing with clients and asking what they want their software to do. The next step is putting together a plan that tells the clients what he plans to make the software do, changes will be made according to the clients needs. The planning and designing stage is usually handled by a senior programmer. Next After doing the research I am still interested in this field of work because it they do the actual coding of the software. Lastly they test the software, and check for errors in the code. This process is called debugging. There are usually two types of programmers, application programmers and system programmers. Application programmers code software to perform tasks for the user. System programmers look at computers as a whole and make sure each parts work well on each other. I want to select this occupation because coding seems like a very fun thing to do in general. Discovering the programs you can make with just a keyboard it fascinating. You can create an entire universe at the tip of your fingers. In addition to being able to create anything I want, it also allows me to work on my schedule. I get to work when I want, wherever I am.…

Although some employers require a postsecondary certificate, most require a bachelor’s degree in a field related to computer or information science. I will need to graduate with my degree in CINT. It has been recommended to me to continue my education and get a four year degree. I have decided not to do that and start working and gain some experience first and if I see that I’m not able to get jobs because they want me to have a degree then I will get one. Future career

When i think about a future career for myself, i see myself doing it for a very long time. In my imagination i picture myself as a millitary special forces officer. I have always wanted to go into the military since i was a little boy. The first time i ever heard about the green berets or the navy seals i knew that was what i wanted to do. I was told that being in the special forces was a very hard, but honorable career. You have to be very tough physically and mentally. My favorite thing about the special forces teams were that they are allowed to access the worlds latest technology and would go on top secret missions and save tons of people and no one would even know that the event had happened. The military today is a lot different than it was when I was a little kid. Karl von Clausewitz defined war as "...an act of violence intended to compel our opponent to fulfill our will In order to attain this object fully, the enemy must be disarmed, and disarmament becomes therefore the immediate object of hostility." In the future, we will have the prospective to make war without the use of violence and fulfill the second half of von Clausewitz's definition with software alone. "Cyber" describes systems that use mechanical or electronic systems to swap human control. Cyber warfare can be executed without violence and therefore the reliance on software intensive systems-cyber systems can make nations exposed to warfare without violence. With the escalating use of computers in military and government, there has been a growing awareness of both a new susceptibility in national infrastructure and a new method of attacking one's enemies. Cyber Warfare could mean winning wars without firing shots, the shutting down of entire national infrastructures at the push of a button, and the complete exploitation or destruction of an enemy's communication networks. It could mean threats from across the world by states with no ability to launch a conventional attack just by using cheap…
