Colorless, liquid chemical compound, dense, nonflammable, nice smelling odor and very very sweet (at least 40 times sweeter than normal sugar), boiling point at 61.17 deg C, melting point at -63 deg C

The organic compound i have chosen for my assignment is trichloromethane otherwise known as Chloroform. I know many of us have heard that chloroform was used to knock people out and put them in a state of unconsciousness and that may be half true however because of its dangerous nature it has been replaced by a more safer chemical called ether around the 20th century. Chloroform, as dangerous as it is, also many other ways of usage within society. Chloroform is used in medical clinics such as hospitals because it works well as an anesthetic.
