Which one of the Five Generic Porter Competitive Strategies discussed in Chapter 5 most closely approximately the competitive approach that Build Built a Bear employing.
One of the Five Generic Porters Competitive Advantage Strategies are most closely approximately to the company is broad differentiation. It is because, Build-A-Bear is offering different types of bears of with different of accessories. They provide children different clothing, sports items and accessories according to the demand of the customers. In this way Build-A-Bear provides and experience and lot more entertainment to their children and their parents a healthy activity for their child. The different products are customization and the experience of making toys. When a child goes to the Build-A-Bear workshop it gives an amazing satisfaction and excited to the child that he or she is in different world where he or she can make his or her own toy with that he or she will play. They didn’t have to focus on the niche market because they have their own customer. Based on customer demands the experience of making a bear with his or her choice the price increases and also they give a good price for the customer.

Critic the chosen strategy in term of effectiveness, suitability and competitiveness for a company to succeed in a challenging global business environment.
For the challenging global business environment, Build-A-Bear has grown significantly since it started including parts of Europe and Asia. They can grow to globally not only nationally because have a several locations here in the United States that Build-A-Bears can open especially towards the west coast. Globally, there is more of an opportunity as parts of Asia, Europe, and nearly all of Africa has not been tapped. Everywhere there is a child so there is an opportunity for a stuffed animal product so they can succeed in global business environment.
