Air pollution
Are you satisfied with the air that you breathe today? Do you know how many people suffer from the air pollution? Air pollution, which is harmful to the health or could cause damage to plants and materials, contains gases, dust, fumes. When pollution occurs in the air, it can easily travel and spread, and because we breathe in air, people are not able to easily avoid it. There are three effects of air pollution, which are acidification, health effects and global warming.

The first effect is acidification. Because of the chemical reaction, sulfuric acid with cloud start to rain, called acid rain. The acid rain can harm vegetation and water life, and harm the food chain indirectly. In addition, some buildings and machines are damaged by acid rain because the acid does huge damage on the surface of metal. Many factories and house spend million dollars on preventing the damage from acid rain. Therefore, acidification is the first effects of air pollution.

The second effect of air pollution is health effects. According to the research, more and more people are getting breath disease because of air pollution. The level of effect usually depends on the length of time of exposure. It can be simply classified as two different effects, the short-term effects and long-term effects. Short-term effects include irritation to the eyes, nose and throat, and allergic reactions. Long-term health effects can include chronic diseases, lung cancer, heart disease. Thus, health effects are the second effects.

The third effect of air pollution is global warming. The global warming is the worst situation that air pollution made. Due to tons of harmful gas or carbon dixmore emit into the atmosphere, the ozone layer are getting damaged. Thus, the weather is getting warm. People, animals, plants on the earth are getting hard to adapt the broken environment. In other words, if people don’t reduce the emission, more and more species will die out.

There is a substantial amount of pollution that comes from man-made sources such as from factories, cars, planes and trains that have an effect on the quality of air we breathe. These conditions can reduce life spans and cause chronic respiratory issues in animals and humans. Some of the chemicals that are associated with air pollution have been known to contribute to birth defects, cancer and other damages to the human body. According to Ferrell, Fraedrich and…

Air pollutants can be in the form of particulate matter which can be very harmful to our health. The level of effect usually depends on the length of time of exposure, as well the kind and concentration of chemicals and particles exposed to. Short-term effects include irritation to the eyes, nose and throat, and upper respiratory infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia. Others include headaches, nausea, and allergic reactions. Short-term air pollution can aggravate the medical conditions of individuals with asthma and emphysema. Dr. Laurent Hodges explains some of these issues in her book Environmental Pollution Second Edition. The following summary is from Dr Hodges ' research on the causes of air pollutions. Air pollutions are caused by a number of different types of pollutants. The first type, particulate matter, consists of solid and liquid aerosols suspended in the atmosphere. These arise from the burning of coal and from industrial processes. Atmospheric particles can scatter and absorb sunlight which reduces visibility. The second type is sulfur oxides which come from the burning of coal and industrial processes. Damage to materials, to vegetation, and to the human respiratory system is caused by the acid nature of oxides. Small quantities of sulfur oxides can increase illness and mortality. The third type of pollutant is carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas against which humans have no protection. Carbon monoxide comes from the exhaust of gasoline-powered vehicles and secondarily from industrial processes. Hemoglobin, which is in the blood, combines with carbon monoxide and carries less oxygen to body tissues causing health and heart effects. Some health problems come from the exhaust fumes leaking…

Another type of air pollution that we hear so often is the greenhouse effect. This is air pollution being caused by several different gasses. Some people call it a theory; others know that there is evidence in supporting the proof behind it. The gasses affect the atmosphere when they move upwards, and also destroy all types of life including plants, humans, animals, and even destroys crops as well. The six gasses are methane, sulphur, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and ozone. To sum it up pollution is usually raised by the burning of fossil fuel, which is why we need to find alternatives. This is bad for humans because it can hurt their skin and also cause different types of cancer for humans. Greenhouse gasses are not good for our health and in large quantities can be fatal.…
