Chili Pepper Fruit Of Immortal By Ching Man
In this critique, I will review three posters, including two posters from my classmates and one poster made by myself. The poster on the left is “Dear Chili Pepper, why are you so hot?” by Ng Lai Yan. The poster in the middle is “A little is enough – Vitamins” and it was made by me. The poster on the right is “Chili PepperFruit of Immortal” by Ching Man (Abby). The poster would be examined by its quality of design, science and conclusion. Quality of Design
Generally, both posters are very beautiful and having high degree of originality, indicating that both of my classmates have put a lot of effort into the posters. They have summarized the information in the posters instead of just copying them from the internet. For Lai Yan’s poster,

Abby’s poster even contains tables to analyze the data and information she has collected. For Lai Yan’s poster, the information under subtitle “Is chili pepper your friend or enemy” is mainly focusing on the advantage and disadvantage of consuming chili pepper. However, she did not have a small conclusion of whether chili pepper is “friend” or “enemy” after she have mentioned the effects of chili pepper. Similarly, Abby have the same problem under the section called “Can it make people live longer? Yes or No?” She did not provide the answer for that question either. Therefore, it would be better for both of them to answer the questions set by themselves in the …show more content…
the chili pepper’s nutrition, advantage and disadvantage of eating chili pepper. I think Lai Yan has done a great job for putting the chemical structure of capsaicin - chemical that makes chili pepper hot. It allows people have more understanding about the substances. However, the information in Lai Yan’s poster is a bit repetitive. She has repeated twice about the effects of Capsaicin. So, she should have better information management next time. For Abby, I think it is a brilliant idea for her to deliver the nutrition information of chili pepper as well as advantage or disadvantage of eating chili pepper in form of table. However, I think there are lack of explanation of nutrition table e.g. what kind of chili pepper the table refers to and what is the meaning of percentage in the table. So, I do not understand the information clearly. In short, I have understood that information should be presented and organized carefully e.g. tables and pictures can be used to

This one seems to fit in with the other art creations at the Jen library though, because around it the other works of art are almost the same in size, this helps give you an idea at how very large this other piece is. Unlike the first piece, this one has a wood base that is left unpainted or stained. Then close to the bottom left corner it has wood planks with white plaster on them all laid pointing outwards from a circle in the center, it reminds one very much of a giant daisy without a yellow center, unlike the top one you get a happy feeling because of this bright beautiful flower. The planks however are torn at the end, and this beautiful daisy starts to look more battered and worn down, it’s kind of sad. Placed above the hole where the yellow pollen of a flower should lay is three rows of five blocks. All of the blocks are made of foam and painted a bright pink, and they are all lined up in straight rows and are uniform, except for one at the bottom left, that one is slightly tilted. In the end I loved how this looked, and when going deeper into the meaning you can really see why this connects so well with the other darker art…
