Children poverty is one of the US leading problems. Poverty puts many children's lives at risk the minute they are brought into the world. Every year 7.6 million children die before they reach age 5, The causes of that is poverty not getting the nutrition needed and not living in a well sheltered area. Children’s immune system is not fully developed and strong, that would make the chance of them catching a disease increase. Health Care and Nutrition is a big problem when children are in poverty. Measles and malaria are two of the biggest killers of children, They are both preventable and treatable if caught money makes trouble as well a safe environment from keeping away from it. In records there is one low income community that can only afford to distribute 1 book every 300 students. Kids in poverty are 7 times more likely to drop out then a kid who is not in poverty, they say the reasons for this is because they need a job to provide for their family sometimes even babysit their siblings while their family works. It’s proven that children in poverty fall behind in school, Not being able to be there all the time or not being able to think straight can cause the education to decrease for children.
Poverty has a significant impact on families making alcohol and drugs a everyday stress reliever for some. Being around drug abuse growing up can make the children themselves have defects such as mental illnesses. Sometimes it’s the alcohol and drug abuse that causes the poverty to begin with. Spending money on drugs instead of the things that are needed such as water bills and food. Many people who have drug abuse problems never seek help, the reason for that would be no healthcare or just don’t want to end the abuse or the
