Children’s Future Is Depend on Their Mothers
Recently I read an article. It was about one of the most successful Korean women.
Her name is YUSUN JUNG and she is a professor of George Mason University in the U.S.A. She is recognized as a great person because even though she has a cerebral palsy, she became a professor in the U.S.A. I was very impressed by her but what was more interesting to me was the role of her mother. Her mother was always encouraging and supporting her. Even she was very proud of her daughter.
Thanks to her mother, Professor Jung has a very positive mind and never complains about her disability.
As the mother of a nine- year -old son, I really respect her mother and think about how important mother’s role is. Since I came to the States, I often think about what kind of mom I am. To be honest, I was a rather pushy mom and more cared about his grades than his feelings like my mom. I grew up thinking I would never make my child feel the same way as I did and decided that I always love him or her no matter what he or she would get good grades or not. However, I made the same mistakes to my son as my mom did to me.
From now on, I will promise myself I will never hurt my son emotionally.
I strongly believe that mothers are the most influential people to their children who can make their children happy and positive.
I am still struggling with my son in many ways but I will do my best to make him happy and well- rounded person.

Even though motherhood came to me at a very early age, the motherly instincts didn't hesitate to come to my mind. The one thing that I did not talk about is strength. Moreover, my mother listened to all my fears and apprehensions with a gentle patience which can only be admired. She covered my winters of self-doubt and self-hate with such warm and tender blankets of caring love. Her eyes were so soft, wandering, and full of comprehension when they focused on other people. My mother’s greatest desire was only to cherish, protect, and lavish affection and care to her family. When I had really bad times, she washed me with her healing sympathy and distracted me with her brilliant humor.…

Another reason why my mother is the most important person in my life is because she is always with me, when I’m happy and when I’m sad. She helps me with hard problems in my life, and she is glad for some good things I do. She helped me from the first, day I was born. She fed me; she didn’t sleep for many nights, only to make me comfortable. She went for walks with me, and was always with me. From the first grade of my school, she helped me with my homework; she taught me how to behave.…
