Holistic development from 1-19 years

It is very important to keep in mind that every child and young person is unique. By looking at the holistic development of children and young people, we can view the whole person-physically, emocionally, intellectually.

It is very important to keep in mind that every child and young person is unique. By looking at the holistic development of children and young people, we can view the whole person-physically, emocionally, intellectually.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

1 year
Physical :
The Baby can control his torso and hands, sit without support. The crawl and has growing control of legs and feet.
He may stand or creep across the floor.

Intellectual:
The child understand the names of objects.
Can fallow simple instructions.
Can talks to him or herself while playing.

Communication and Language:
The child begins to talk with words or sign language.
The child echoes the last parts of what others say .

Can count steps,(one ,two, one, two), can say I come , come with me…. Emotional and Social: The child enjoys walk being able to walk, and is eager to try to get dressed Me do it!

Physical: The child walks alone.
Intellectual: Understand when walk can change place, room, etc. Communication and Language: Can count steps,(one ,two, one, two), can say I come , come with me…. Emotional and Social: The child enjoys walk being able to walk, and is eager to try to get dressed Me do it!

Physical: The baby holding a paint brush.
Intellectual: Learn about colours and shapes.
Communication and Language: Naming colours and talking about painting. Emotional and Social: Choosing what to paint, feeling happy.

Intellectual: The Baby is beginning to develop images.

Communication and Language: The baby can fallow simple instructions( kiss teddy)

Emotional and Social : The baby can drink from a cup with help.

2 years

Physical: The baby can walk up and down stairs.

Intellectual: The child has improved memory skills.

Communication and Language: The child rapidly becoming competent speakers.

Emotional and Social: Can say how he or she is feeling.

3 years
Physical: The child can jump from low steps.

Intellectual: The child talks.

Communication and Language: The child begins to use plurals, pronouns, adjective, possessives, time words, ect.

Emotional and Social: The child makes friends and is interested in having friends.

4 years
Physical: The child can catch, kick, throw and bounce a ball.

Intellectual: The child usually knows how to count – up 20.

Communication and Language: This is this time when The child asks why, when, why and how questions as he or she becomes.

Emotional and Social: The child shows a sense of humor.

5 years

Physical: The child can use a variety of play equipment- slides, swing, climbing , frames.

Intellectual: Communication through body language, facial gestures and languages is well established and opens the way into literacy( listening, talking, writing and reading)

Communication and Language: The child talks confidently, and with more and more fluency.

Emotional and Social: The child can think of feeling of others.

Physical: The child hops easily , with good balance.

Intellectual: The child enjoys chanting and counting.

Communication and Language: The child begins to realize that different situations require different ways of talking....
