Child Support Observation
I called the constituent, he said his girlfriend kick him out of her house, they are not legally married but she is going to have a baby in July. When he was packing his belongings, he found a DCS document which apparently his girlfriend file for a child support. He was concern that she is going to file for a legal custody.

I informed him that child support is administrated by DCS and DCS falls under the Department of Justice, not DHS. I suggested him to contact the DCS. He said that he had contacted a DHS office, but they did not give him any information. I informed him because the DHS may not have any information on system yet. I offered him the DCS phone number. He said he is at work right now and cannot take notes, but he will Google

Present child custody and support laws do not make any sense. They often penalize hard working parents and alienate parents from children they love. These laws must be re-examined and revised so that the best interest of children be served at all times.…

For the couple in question, the recommendation I am making is that they use the filing status of married filing jointly. Since the couple has three children they will qualify for three dependency exemptions as well as two exemptions for themselves. Since all three of the children still live in the household and all of the children are under the age of nineteen the couple is allowed to claim them as dependents. On the other hand, the couple cannot claim spouse B’s mother since they did not supply over fifty percent of the support for her for the year they are filing. The total amount of the mother’s living expense, including the cost of rent, food, and other expenses brings the total support to seven thousand dollars and the mother supplies the couple with $7920 a year. The money that she supplies is what she receives from her Social Security benefits.…

At this time, a full overview of this case was given. Which is as follows: I explained the client is in Star plus waiver, a 30 day letter was issued from ASH on 1/6/17 and an MDU slot was requested on 1/6/17 and then again on 1/12/17 as I did not get a returned email that Cindy Pollan had already retired. Nor did I get a returned phone call from her voicemail, which was still active. After speaking with other DADS/HHSC contacts, I got your information and we spoke on 1/25/17. This was the date his slot was released. I spoke to the parents and they selected a provider on 1/31/17. Thus me reaching out to Stacy on 2/1/17. At the time, I explained that ASH did not want to hold the client until 3/1/17 due to no longer meeting medical necessity and why they issued the 30 day letter. This caused an issue, the client cannot return home, ASH needs to dischrge, yet he cannot enroll until 3/1/17 because of the Star plus waiver. I called seeking guidance on if the waiting until the 1st of the month was an HHSC rule that could be reviewed and changed for this special case or was the rule from Medicaid.…

CCIB received CPS referral #0972-4764-8677-3023697 from reporting party (RP) stating that on 5/15/17, foster child (FC) Destiny Salazar (age 18, DOB: 04/30/99) contacted RP to report that she was kicked out of the foster home by Foster mother (FM) for getting home late the prior evening. FM would not allow FC to return to the home to pick up her things. FC was staying with her boyfriend. RP contacted FC to obtain her verson of events. FM stated that on a previous occasion when FC was late, she sat the child down and informed her that if she were late next time, FM would kick her out. FM advised RP that "a 7 day notice is a courtesy and I don't have togive a 7 day notice." FM also stated that previously, she would contact the social worker…

We understand from the CPS assessment and interview with (SU) there was a safety plan initiated involving the paternal aunt as a Safety Service Provider (SSP). Mother and child stayed with her as father already had planned to stay with a relative. It is reported and documented that father had his bags packed by the time LEA and CPS went to the home on October 8, 2015. We understand the safety plan was in place for less than a week as mother then moved back home with child and agreed to have friends check in on her. Parents were very cooperative and able to plan parenting time accordingly and were in the process of initiating divorce/custody proceedings. Our understanding is the father was never restricted from contact with the child by DHS—on the night of October 8, 2015 we understand Mr. Lasich stated he would stay away from his sister’s home until everything was sorted out.…

As an Independent Custody Visitor, I visit police stations unannounced with another volunteer to check on the treatment of detainees, the conditions in which they are being held and that their rights and entitlements are being observed. We conduct a short interview of the detainees, asking about their treatment whilst in custody. We also inspect other parts of the custody suite including the medical room, kitchen and washing facilities and report our observations. We then prepare a report for each visit, a copy of which is provided to the police and the Scottish Police Authority. During my time with the organisation I gained experience in following protocols and procedures set by the organisation and gained team working…

I can understand why people feel that the custodial parent should receive the full child support payment. The state system was designed those who are in need of assistance. If a parent was/is receiving benefits and start to receive child support, the state should recoup their money. If people would like to continue to have a program the offers assistance, measures such as these (repaying the state through child support) must remain in…

I believe the most challenging aspect about this particular position is investigating a facility due to the allegations reported and properly documenting. When investigating a facility, one must be aware of their surroundings and properly multi-task because an investigation may involve talking to multiple individuals while receiving documents and presenting presenting facts. The main focus is to secure the child in that particular environment, by following all policies and procedures of the agency. This appeal to me because I've had a personal experience of child care negligence. When my daughter was younger she attended at child care facility that I trust and believe would properly care for my child. One day, I stopped by to check on her…
