Physical Development:
Gross
motor (using arms, legs, whole body), and fine motor (using fingers or hand), hand eye co-ordination (using information from eye to control body), movement, stamina. Social, Moral, Emotional & Behavioural Development:
Social skills relate to relationships, emotional skills relate to feelings.
Sharing, taking turns, sympathising, caring for others, showing appropriate emotion, recognising emotion in others, feelings, kindness, consideration, independence.
Communication and intellectual development:
For example: Use of language. academic progress, learning new skills.

    The main areas of development include: physical development, social and emotional development, intellectual development and language development. Through physical development, a young child from age 0 to 3 will learn to turn their head toward some sounds and movement, move from sitting with support to sitting alone, raise arms to be lifted, begin to walk and kneel to play. The aspects of social and emotional development include: response to adults, especially the mother’s face and voice, enjoying the company of others and games like peek –a boo, liking to please adults and perform for an audience and developing a sense of own identity and wanting to do things for themselves.
