Six months ago, corporate daycare facilities were cleaning out my bank account. I was losing the ability to pay for gas, rent and my utilities because all my money was going towards my son’s weekly daycare tuition. My parents could help me scrap on by here and there but that wasn’t there responsibly. It was then that my mother suggested that I should look into putting my son into a local licensed in home daycare facility opposed to a major corporate daycare facility. I was a little skeptical at first, but I was willing to look into a facility that could possibly save me a lot of money. I’m not an expert on daycare facilities but with my experience of working for a franchised facility and being a single mother and college student on a budget, it has given me the knowledge to advise others. For the purpose of my speech, I want to inform my audience on the different types of daycare facilities, the tuition and what to look for in choosing a facility.…

Americans place their lives in the hands of their government. We trust that in doing so, things will inevitably work out in the correct way. However, this is not the case for many children who become lost in the Child Protective Services; or CPS organization. Texas has a separate system of courts that directly handles the cases in which a family’s structure, practices, and techniques come into question called the family courts. However, these courts often become overburdened and make serious mistakes sending children back into circumstances which offer little to no hope for a bright future. Their primary goal is to “reunite children with their families.” Serious consideration needs to be explored as to whom; the…

According to Land (2016), “the Office of Child Care through the Administration for Children and Families reported that 1.45 million children’s families received child care assistance in 2013; and the National Center for Education Statistics reported a total of 4.8 million children lived in poverty in that same year”. These parents often seek child care facilities fees that are based on their income. It is impossible for PCA to lower its fees and survive the monthly business expenses. To recruit and assist low-income parents so that their children will receive high-quality…

During my observations in the different classrooms at “The childcare Center”, I learned about the proper environment, the fundamentals of the teachers lesson plans, their health and safety regulations, their approach to guidance and discipline, and overall quality childcare. The center has eight different levels of age groups; each of them has their own curriculum based on their age and developmental needs. This curriculum changes and has a new theme each month that helps the lead teachers to be able to start their lesson plans each week. From infants all the way to pre-K the lesson plans include fine motor, gross motor, art and sensory, math and manipulatives, music and movement, language including both signing and Spanish.…
