Chihhua Research Paper
There is a lot of information out there on How to Take Care of a Chihuahua. As Chihuahua's are fragile little dogs it really does pay to do your research before taking the 18 year commitment of owning one of these great little dogs.

Like any other dog, Chihuahua's really need training, however, they do tend to need more than a larger dog, and while Chihuahua's are really smart they are also very stubborn. When toilet training it does pay to get training advice suitable for Chihuahua's, they will want to and do tend to go inside when it's wet and cold outside. So constant enforcement is necessary for these little dogs.

As Chihuahua's are small and have little body fat, they do require extra warmth, and will happily wear a doggy jumper or jacket to keep warm; they are also ones to bury themselves under blankets and clothes, so when you own a Chihuahua it does pay to be careful when sitting down on somewhere the Chihuahua could be sleeping.

Chihuahua's can also suffer from health problems. The main one is low blood sugars; this requires them to have a constant supply of food to snack on. If their blood sugars get low and there is nothing for them to eat, they can slip into a coma and die.

Dogs like that need daily exercise that will use up that energy or will turn into a problem such as destroying furniture or digging holes which could lead to them escaping.
