What types of marketing strategies is Chick-fil-A following?
First of all, the target market are customers, mainly families, who want quick high quality food. Chick-fil-A also emphasizes on the 4Ps; Product, Price, Place, Promotion with the addition of Purpose and People. When it comes to product, Chick-fil-A serves their food with the freshest ingredients and is cooked daily or every few minutes in specific. The operators, in addition, plans out just enough inventory to sell. Their menus gives them the freedom of choice and caters to many people. They even have some indulgent items like their milkshakes. When it comes to price, the loyal customers are willing to pay full price for quality meals. Chick-fil-A “charge only enough profit to satisfy the cost” to keep the business thriving. It also highlights the fact that the price is not all about the product itself but the overall experience which includes the service, cleanliness of the restaurant and the speed of the employees. Chick-fil-A experienced growth over the years and is flourishing in 38 states with around 1,300 stores. They are located in the malls and most of them are free standers. Chick-fil-A does have many franchises spread out across the nation too. Chick-fil-A partnered up with The Richards Group that came up with the “Eat Mor Chikin” campaign and is said to be the best marketing strategy. They rely on their quirky and renegade cows that sends a self-preserving message to get consumers to choose chicken over beef. They also entertain consumers with their hilarious roadside billboard and calendars that comes with coupons. Not only that, the mascots do get personal with the customers during events and such. Chick-fil-A stands out because it is one of the few prominent large businesses that is closed on Sundays. Firstly, it benefits the workers because they get at least one day of the week off and that shows how much they value their employees. Secondly, customers with the same Christian beliefs have more respect on the business because they keep their Sabbath Day holy to honor God which helps in retaining loyal customers. Lastly, it decreases the possibility of customers getting sick of the food. Since it is closed on Sundays, customers are more eager to have Chick-fil-A the next day it opens. Customers will not have the mentality that it is opened everyday so they can go whenever they want which sometimes turns out otherwise, they do not go at
