Many people don’t know the things cheerleaders do on a daily basis. As soon as our season begins we work on things for our competition. Just like any other sport we all have that one thing we are preparing for and that one thing being competition. Competition is a very important part of our cheer season from preparing for it, what we do the day of competition, and the feeling we get when we won. Throughout our cheer season we prepare for many things. One way we prepare is having hard practices that make you want to quit. During our practice we learn a fun, but difficult dance. Our dance can be fast or slow motions. When we go to competition we have to learn a wordy technical and making sure we say each word at the right pitch. Practice lasts …show more content…
When Melissa gets in her car she is the first to pull out of the parking lot leaving everyone else to follow. Nervously waiting to arrive we have finally made it the high school where we will be performing. As soon as we get there we go get ready making our parents or whoever came wait until the time it will start. When we get to the locker room we will change, all we can smell is a strong mixture of hairspray and perfume. When we are done getting ready we go stretch and patiently wait for “Tygarts Valley, you can now warm up.” All so nervous we made it through warm ups and now have safety check. Each of us holding our hands up so the judge can check the length of our nails, she finally says “let’s see your stunts.” They make sure our stunts meet the regulations. Then we receive warm up time on the actual gym floor. We go through music and if any stunts fell during safety check we will do on the gym floor. We also do our technical, but fake the stiff motions. When it is our turn they will say, “Tygarts Valley, you will have five minutes on the gym floor.” After we warm up we nervously watch the other squads warm up waiting for the long competition ahead of us.
